You'd always seen the world in more colour and felt emotions with much more fervor. Maybe it had something to do with your mutation, your ability to channel your own energy into visible streams of explosive light, maybe not. Whatever the reason was, you'd always been more in touch with your emotions, wants and needs, and been able to pick up on the emotional queues of others.
That being, the first time you laid eyes on Wanda, you knew this girl would be it. She walked past you in obvious (at least to you) turmoil, and you swore you could see the goodness radiating off of her, frothing and bubbling in the air around her. Maybe it had something to do with how in your own eyes, the energy of others manifested physically in and around them, maybe not. Maybe she was really just that good.
She sat at the table, surrounded by the avengers as they questioned her with the intent of inviting her to join the avengers initiative, and you were completely enraptured by her. She was so different.
A smile tugged at your lips as you watched another pink bubble form and leach from her, and let out a small laugh as it popped on the ceilings. Her energy was so unusual. So, so unusual, it piqued your interest.
"Why are you staring at me?"
Your eyes darted away from her bubbling energy and back down to her, eyebrows raised, before flickering your gaze to the rest of the avengers, who were staring at you with mixed reactions to your distraction.
Another bubble seeped out of her, and you had to touch it. You had to feel her energy.
"I just... wait..." You mumbled as you walked around the table to her, entranced.
Before anybody in the room could stop you, you reached up and stared at how her thick, cool energy flowed seamlessly through your fingers like silk.
Wanda stared, wide-eyed at you as you played with the air (?), and then glanced nervously back at the rest of your team. "What is she...?" She questioned, hesitantly.
"She's feeling your energy." Bruce said in good humor, used to your odd behavior, glad to see you interested and curious again.
"You mean 'playing with'" Tony laughed at Wanda, and your oblivious actions.
You slowly brought your hand down, cutting the stream of energy in half, and your eyes landed on her face. Her scrunched eyebrows and mouth set in a confused yet curious line, and you jumped back.
"Gosh!" You exclaim, rushing back around the table, afraid to have scared her. "I'm so sorry! It's just your energy is bubbly and popping and I wanted to touch it because it's so odd and cool looking and feeling, by the way, and-"
"It's ok." She cuts in with a bemused smile at your rambling. "I can tell you're sincere."
"You can tell... I'm sincere?" Your words trail off, and grasping for an answer, urging her to explain what she meant, until Steve broke the silence.
"Wanda here, can manipulate energy and read minds." Steve says, giving you a knowing look, "You would've known that, (Y/N), if you'd paid attention to the briefing before hand."
"I didn't look into your mind." Wanda quickly reassures, not wanting you, or anyone, to get the wrong idea. "I just can't always block out the emotions of others. You didn't scare me."
A year passed, and you still found Wanda's energy so inexplicably alluring. Now however, you weren't sure whether it was because of how odd her energy was, or if it was just because it was her energy. Yes, you may or may not have completely fallen head over sneakers for the Scarlet Witch.
You couldn't help it though, who could resist? There was something magical about her. Her entire being was fuzzy, and whimsical. Maybe you should just add the way the galaxy sat in her eyes to the list of things only you can see, because of your mutation or not.
You could see her affection for you, and it was just as strong as yours. However hard she tried to hide it, you could see the bubbles lean towards you whenever you were around. You heard the adoration in the way she said your name, and felt her words reach out and embrace you.
"I love you." You finally said one day as the two of you relaxed on the couch in a common room on your floor.
Wanda's eyes immediately shot open, and she sat up, removing her head from your lap. Her hair was a mess from how you were mussing it up with her fingers, but you found no fault in it. She was magical. Beautiful. Intelligent. Lively. Shocking. She was everything and nothing at once.
"You can't." Wanda said flatly, and she moved to leave, but you tugged her back and held her head gently in your two hands.
You sat in silence for what seemed like forever, with you, allowing her energy to seep into and caress your hands and her, on the verge of tears, not wanting to loose you as she lost her brother, refusing to allow the same events to unfold for a second time.
"But I do." You finally said, quietly, and Wanda made no move to leave. She yearned for your touch and to give into your love even though she knew she shouldn't.
"Don't try," She whispered, and then sniveled. "I'm not worth it (Y/N)."
You moved forward, pressed your forehead against hers, and allowed your own energy to envelope her. Her eyes stared into yours and you knew even if she couldn't see it, she could feel your soul enveloping her own. "From the moment I laid eyes on you, Wanda, I thought you were a dream." You murmur, and nudge your nose against hers, lips lightly brushing against hers.
"Your eyes are like the stars, Wanda." You mutter, and before she can respond, you continue. "Your touch, is like water. Your skin is land waiting to be explored. Your mind is a raging storm, a beautiful twister filled with intelligence and thoughtfulness and understanding and in the eye, is your hidden anguish and grief you think no one is privy to."
You pull away from her slightly, wipe at a tear on her cheek, and run a hand though her hair. "Your smile is like the sun. Your strength like the moon. Your energy is like life itself – Wanda I love you, and to me, you're worth everything in the entire universe."
You lean forward, and drag your lips against hers gently before pulling away slightly, and glancing once more into her starry eyes. "You're worth my life – Wanda, we're not just friends and you fucking know it."
Wanda smiles gently, the corners of her mouth upturning at the absurd curse-word you snuck into such a heartfelt confession, and you grinned as she responded.
"Yea, I know."
"Whether you have bad days, whether you're sad or happy, whether you're here or half way around the world Wanda, let me be there for you." You suck in a breath, and try not to let yourself become too emotional, try and make yourself her rock, be there for her. "Please." You whisper, and she shakes her head.
"(Y/N), you're already there."
