You were working your shift at the cafe a few miles down from the set of the Drama TV show, Supernatural. You constantly got tourists wanting to see as much as they could, while also getting editors, publishers, and other crew members from set. You knew all of them really well, the other employees putting you in charge of helping the crew out because they were too busy with the 'tourists.' As you filled up the coffee pot to get some hot and fresh coffee, the bell rang as someone walked in. He had long brown hair, a beanie on his head, and his head down to shield his identity to others. You knew this man. He sat down at the same booth as he always does, away from the public eye. You finished brewing the coffee and headed to his table with a smile.
"Hey, Mr.Padalecki," you said with a grin as you filled a mug with his usual order down.
Jared chuckled, "I told you, Y/N. Call me Jared."
You slid into the seat across from him, watching the way he looked over at you with hazel eyes that had a surplus of kindness in them. He set his sunglasses down and took a sip from the cup before crossing his arms and resting them on the table.
"So, what's new with my favorite waitress?"
"Well...." You said hesitantly.
Jared tilted his head, still smiling softly, "Just talk, you know I won't judge."
You nodded before taking a breath and beginning, "So...I think I like this guy. Now, he's always there for me and we've known each other for a really long time. Sometimes, though, it feels like I'm not worth it, like he shouldn't be talking with me. After all, I'm a waitress. But, he still always comes to me and asks about my life. I want to tell him, I really do. I just....I feel like he won't feel the same way or I'm not worth the risk."
Jared thought for a moment before looking down at his coffee and looking back up, "Okay. Let me tell you something. This guy, whatever his name is, would be one of the luckiest people on Earth to have you around." Jared gently reached forward and laced your fingers with his before continuing after you made eye contact with him again, "You are so worth it. You have an amazing laugh and smile that brightens up the entire room when you show it. This man would be an idiot not to love you."
You didn't have anything to say. Jared was always so kind to you. You could tell he wanted to know who you were talking about, but that wasn't exactly possible. You couldn't just tell Jared that you'd developed feelings for him. You sighed, looking down at your folded hands, "Jared.."
He tilted his head slightly, a kind grin on his face, "Hm?"
"I...uhm..."
"C'mon."
"I think I might actually maybe like you a lot..." You said quietly, not looking over at him.
Jared didn't say anything for a moment. Instead, he stood and walked over to your side of the booth, wrapping you in his arms. Your eyes widened slightly, but you automatically curled into him. He was strong, warmth radiating from him.
"It's okay. I think I like you, too." Jared said before leaning down to give you a kiss on your forehead. You chuckled. He was really just a big, adorable puppy. The fact that Jared liked you back made your heart flutter. You'd known this man for so long, now finding out that your feelings were mutual.
"So, how about I pick you up after your shift? Maybe we could go to the park." Jared said, his arm gently sliding up and down, his other hand rubbing circles with his thumb on the back of your hand.
