Everything just didn't make sense to you. What was the point of your friends lying to you, saying that Klaus didn't kill your mother? They should have known that you would figure it out. Why wouldn't anyone let you kill him? All of the lies you have been fed, are driving you crazy, and all you wanted to do was cry and scream, so that's what you did.
Sobs racked through your body, and you didn't even try to conceal it. You didn't bother, because you thought no one would try and come by tonight, since everyone knows that you are ready to snap, but right at this moment, the band broke, the flood gates are open, and all you want is to be in someone's arms. Someone's strong protective embrace. You wanted to feel safe.
You heard a knock on your door, and you looked up startled, not expecting anyone. You saw it was Damon. The one person who wanted to tell you from the beginning. When he saw that you were crying, he flashed over to you, and you were instantly brought into his arms, and laid back with him on the bed. He pulled the blanket over you, since you were practically freezing.
"What's wrong?" he asked in a nurturing tone. Not a tone you would expect from him. "Klaus killed my mother, and they all kept it a secret from me. I can't trust them." You said sobbing. "Sh, you're safe." Damon said as he rubbed his hand over your arm, to try to give you warmth, because you were almost going into shock.
"What if Klaus comes after me next? I won't be able to protect myself." You said, finally becoming afraid at the fact that he could easily hurt you if he wanted to. "Listen, (Y/N), I won't let anyone come near you, okay? I will protect you. Even though you're scared of Klaus, and self-defense doesn't apply to him, I'll teach you how to fight, so if you're hurt, you will be able to protect yourself. No one will hurt you again." Damon said strongly. You sighed, and got closer to him, feeling protected in his strong embrace.
"Damon, why did no one want to tell me the truth?" you asked after a few minutes of silence. "I don't know, I wish I knew, but I don't. I wasn't allowed to tell you myself, until you found out by them deciding to tell you, or you figuring it out on your own. Bonnie put a spell on me, so I couldn't. And I hated not being able to tell you. Everyone deserves that much truth. Especially the truth of how your parents died." Damon said. "It wasn't your fault. I believe you." You said truthfully. You knew him extremely well, even if you couldn't hear his heartbeat to hear if he was lying or not, you just knew he wasn't.
"Salvatore." You mumbled, starting to feel the day's and tear on you. "What?" he asked, obviously confused. "It means savior. Your last name means savior. My savior." You mumbled. He didn't know what to say, probably touched that you thought of him as such, so he did the only thing he could do. He kissed you. You looked up at him shocked, but there was something in his eyes that made you feel complete. Safe in your savior's arms.
"Why are you so kind to me?" he asked confused. "Because all you have ever wanted to do was keep me safe and happy. You've always believed that I'm strong enough to be capable of knowing the truth. You have faith in me that no one seems to have." You said softly. "You bring out the faith I lost long ago." He whispered.
"So what are they going to do? Are they going to try and apologize?" you asked. He grabbed your hand, and intertwined your fingers together, and you smiled. "Honestly, I have no idea, but I'll keep them away for as long as you want." Damon said in a protective way. "You do that." You said sleepily. "Get some sleep. I'll be here when you wake up." He said sincerely. "You better." You mumbled before you drifted off.
