You rolled your eyes as Jensen childishly placed the Captain America mask over his face and held the tiny, little plastic shield, all the fans in the crowd at the convention falling into swarms of giggles. Yeah, sure he was "cute" in a way a mother sees their four year old child, but he was in his thirties, there's no reason for him to act like this in such a childish manner. You didn't hate the guy, but you didn't get along with him very well.
Though, the only real reason you seem to put up with him is for your husband, Jared. Seeing as it may, you really do love the tall man more than life itself. And you practically pitied him for having to work with such a childish man, Danneel too. You felt sympathy towards her for marrying a child in a man's body. You never really found the point where Jensen grew up, he was the same exact person you met on season one, and you felt annoyed at his childish antics. You have always wondered if he does it on purpose, or if he's being legit.
And you couldn't deny the way the fans support you and Jensen, the way they ship the two of you, in fact. You have heard of Destiel and Cockles, even J² and J²M, but never have you ever thought to hear of a ship with your name and Jensen's. You have no chemistry with him what-so-ever, and you find it completely revolting that a person would throw out a combined name just to see the reactions of the fans. They probably only ship it because of the amounts of arguments you and Jensen have in a single convention. It's pathetic, really. They see it as something special whereas you see it as you just getting sick of Jensen's childish acts to the point where you have to say something about it.
It's not like there's a ship for you and Jared, which would make more sense seeing as you are married to him and not Jensen, and there's not a ship for you and Misha, where you have more fun with Misha than with Jensen. The fans like to see you suffer in the sense where the only person they ship you with is Jensen, and they don't even make you a ship with any of them on the actual TV show itself.
Having to watch Jensen play as a child for almost eleven years was enough you had to endure. It had gotten to the point where Jared found out that you aren't really fond of him, and he has been trying for the past century to get the two of you on good terms. You had forgotten when he found out. Season two? Maybe it was three? It didn't matter, he found out and he was putting all his effort into making sure you and Jensen are at least great friends, but that never seems to work.
Except today.
The convention had made up a schedule where you and Jensen get onto the stage alone, together, at the same time, leaving Jared behind the scenes with Danneel. You didn't know what they were talking about, and you didn't really care for it. Had you known that the conversation was about you and Jensen and their "brilliant" plan in getting you two to be friends, you would have made sure that Jared and Danneel would never be put in the same room together alone.
And coming towards the end of today's convention, you could see the patient glances the fans seem to be sending you, as if begging you to start another argument with the child in front of you acting as Captain America. They want you to purposely start an argument with him, for no reason. He hasn't done anything (yet) to even set you remotely close to snapping at him. Though the fans want something from you, you are mostly obliged to give it to them.
You get off your chair and march over to Jensen, ripping the mask off his face to make him furrow his eyebrows and turn to look at you.
"Can you be even more childish than a first grader?" You rolled your eyes and crossed your arms over your chest, the Captain America mask dangling between your two fingers. "You're completely immature for a 30 year old man."
Jensen scoffed and crossed his arms over his chest, the crowd growing silent, but you could see the look of anticipation sparking in their eyes. "You need to loosen up, Y/N."
"Loosen up?"
"Yeah. Take the stick outta your ass once in awhile and have a little fun."
You chuckled unamusingly. "That's funny coming from you. If you take life more seriously, Jensen, then you might just be able to get through life much easier."
"If you think for one second that I will ever become anal like you, then you're absolutely insane." Jensen shook his head. "Take a chill pill and have a little fun."
"I hate you."
"And I hate you."
You hadn't realized how close the two of you gotten. Your noses were almost touching. You could feel his hot breath washing over you and it made you sick, you pulled away as the crowd erupted in cheers.
You walked off the stage.
—
You were excited that night, going home and hopping in bed with Jared, the man you love. It's what you needed, especially after spending the whole day with Jensen, the one you despise most. After the convention, you and Jensen were up to do the photo op. A lot of people asked for pictures with both you and Jensen - especially with the two of you doing something to prove your hatred for each other.
But the second you walked through the door of your home and saw both Danneel and Jensen, you immediately knew that you were not going to get the night you were hoping for.
"What's happening?" you asked, slowly closing the door behind you. Jensen only shrugged, and it made you feel relieved to know that you are not the only one who's clueless.
"Jared should be down in a moment," Danneel said softly, sending you a reassuring smile. "He's just cleaning up."
You looked between Jensen and Danneel - the way his hand relaxes over her shoulder, lazily yet protective, and the way he looks at her, you knew he was head-over-heels in love with her. Jensen never came over when you were home, Jared made sure of it. The night always ended with Jensen storming out of the house.
"Sorry." Jared smiled at you once he entered the room. "Just had to clean up a few things." He walked up next to you, slipping a hand around your waist and pulling you close to you, placing a small kiss on your lips. "So, while you two did you panel at the con, Danneel and I had a pretty deep conversation."
"We came up with an idea," Danneel said. "It's called wife swap."
"Wife swap?" You and Jensen had spoken at the same time.
Jared nodded and released you. "Yeah. Danneel got the idea."
She smiled sheepishly as you looked at her.
"Danneel will stay here with me," Jared explained quickly. "And you, Y/N, will be going home with Jensen tonight."
You scoffed and shook your head, stepping away from him. "There is no way. There is no way in Hell that I'm going home with... him."
"How long?" Jensen asked, unwrapping his arm from Danneel and crossing them over his chest.
"Two weeks," Danneel answered with a shrug, as if it were no big deal.
It was Jensen's turn to scoff. "Do you really think that I'm going to survive two weeks under the same roof as her? Alone?"
Jared shrugged. "It's worth a shot, okay?"
"And there's not anything for any of you for the next two weeks. So, the two of you will do normal things like normal people. No conventions. No fans. Nothing. Normal," Danneel said.
Jared rubbed his hands together. "I already have your bags packed, Y/N, so you're already ready to get started."
"And I have my bags in the car." Danneel left the room and Jared wasn't too far behind. As they left, you stared at the ground, not even bothering to look up at Jensen.
"Let's create a safe word," Jensen said softly and you nodded in agreement.
"Sounds good." You looked up. "Don't need to be killing each other yet."
"Yeah." He grinned. "Yet." Shaking his head, he uncrossed his arms. "Mercy."
"Mercy."
—
It was the first day of you moving in with Jensen, and you already wanted to kill yourself. If you thought that he was somewhat a grown up when he was at home, behind closed doors, but you were completely wrong. He was even more of a child. With superhero capes and stuff from fan mail, if you didn't know any better, you would believe that you were in a child's home.
By the third day, it had gotten to the point where you had muttered the safe word, but when he asked you to repeat what you had said, you only smiled at him and shook your head, going back to sipping your coffee.
On the sixth day, you had to go grocery shopping. After telling Jensen, he had made you a list of what Danneel usually gets, and once you got the list, you were annoyed. Animal crackers, soda, pretzels, applesauce. You were completely positive that a child wrote this.
By the time the tenth day rolled around, though, you found yourself evolving around Jensen's childish acts. Whenever he ran around the room like a complete lunatic with a cape around his neck, you'd chuckle. He even got a few games out of you. You were softening up to him, and you knew he was softening up to you.
Eleven days had passed and you found yourself falling asleep in the same bed as Jensen, and waking up with your head on his chest. Your stares would linger on him, and your touches lasted just a bit longer than usual. A blush would color your cheeks - but only slightly - whenever he caught you looking at him, and breakfast that used to be an awkward meal was now filled with laughter and smiles. You don't exactly remember when the changes began, but you knew it was terrifying you.
Day thirteen, the two of you were getting closer than you thought you would. And you knew he noticed it, too. He would walk in on you taking a shower, but you didn't say anything, and vice versa. He would purposely brush his hand against yours whenever the two of you are close to each other, just so he could feel the warmth of your skin against his. He'd smile at you when you're not looking, and notice your flaws, taking them in as perfection.
On the last night, the two of you were cuddling in the bed.
"Last night," you whispered and his hand squeezed yours as it rested on his bare chest. "I don't even remember day one."
He chuckled. "I know." He looked down at you at the same time you looked up at him and he smiled. "And I don't think I want it to end."
"I don't either."
You looked into his eyes, his emerald green eyes boring into your eyes. And you practically felt your breath stop as he leaned in closer to you, you moving closer to him. Your lips connected together in a heartbeat and you felt him move you on top of him.
The both of you got lost under the blankets.
—
You woke up to both your phones ringing and you looked around to see your clothes on the ground. As Jared's name flashed across your screen, and Danneel's name across Jensen's, realization hit your as hard as a semi truck as you turned back over to look at Jensen.
You both had an affair.
And you would do it again.
