*midnight*

I heard a scream come from my room, me and Skyla quickly got up and ran to the room. Astrid was crying, kicking and screaming. I held down her arms so she wouldn't hurt me again.

"Skyla can you wake her up?"

"Umm hold on. I have an idea." She ran off then came back with a small cup of water. She splashed it in Astrid's face and a second later Astrid was awake. She was breathing heavily.

"Shh just calm down don't talk you are fine." There was a knock on the door. "That's probably Lalna and his mom you want to get that?" I asked looking up at her trying to get Astrid to calm down.

"Yeah, I'll be back." She quickly left the room leaving me and Astrid alone.

"What happened?" She asked lowly.

"You were having a nightmare." She shook her head.

"It's hot." She tried to kick off the covers but I kept the covers tucked in.

"You're running a high temperature and we're trying to break it." She didn't say anything just laid there. I sighed and looked at the door and saw Lalna, with Skyla and his mom.

"So what happened exactly?" Lalna's mom asked.

"Umm she got into a fight," Lalna softly explained.

"Ok and you didn't take her to a hospital because?"

"She's not exactly human," Skyla said quickly. Instead of freaking out or laughing she just nodded.

"Ok, so what is she?" She asked seriously.

"A demon." I said standing up. She nodded.

"Ok, I've never met one of those before," She muttered.

"Neither have us but we met her a month ago."

"Over a month ago," Skyla added. Lalna left the room while his mom got out her medical bag. She checked Astrid's temperature, heartbeat, and blood pressure first, then she started checking her eyes, ears, and throat.

"Say aaahhh."

"Aaahhh." Astrid said opening her mouth.

"Like a week and a half," Skyla sighed.

"Oh how is she looking?"

"Her throat is sore. Has she been throwing up?" I nodded.

"Yeah she's been throwing up blood and I can't get her to keep anything down."

"Ok, have you tried liquids?"

"I tried to give her a smoothie."

"Alright, I'll give her some nausea medication and some fever medicine. I'm just curious, does anything hurt? Besides your throat."

"Everywhere that I have bandages." She mumbled.

"Ok, anywhere else?" She shook her head.

"No."

"No head pains, chest pains, anything like that?"

"No, sometimes my stomach burns."

"I think that's just the acid. I think this is just her body trying to heal herself. Like I said I've never met a demon before so I could be wrong. Drink water and give her the nausea medicine every six hours and the fever medicine every four hours."

"Okay thank you Lalna's mom."

"Call me Allison, and it's no problem." Her phone beeped and she quickly checked it. "There's an emergency at the hospital. Would it be alright if Lalna just stayed here for the night? I really don't like him being home alone."

"Yeah sure that's fine Ridge is in the guest bedroom if you want to tell him that he can sleep in there so he doesn't have to sleep on the couch again."

"It's alright, I knew his parents so I trust him." She looked at the door then back to me. "Honestly I'm just waiting for them to get together. Lalna's not getting a girlfriend based on his attitude towards them, and I have no problem with that, but I've also heard how he talks about him. It's bound to happen."

"Yeah but I think Ridge is waiting for the right moment to ask him."

"Better be soon cause the wait is killing me," She laughed. She turned to leave then she stopped and looked at Skyla. "Wait a second I think I know your dad. Adam right?" Skyla nodded. "Yeah, we were friends throughout high school. Anyways I got to go. Call me if she gets worse."

"Okay thank you." Allison left and it was just me and Skyla. "You should get home."

"Yeah, I guess. I'll see you tomorrow though. Ok?"

"Hey is your guy's school taking anymore students?"

"All the time, why?"

"Well I kinda just want Astrid to have a normal teenager experience so I didn't know if there was a waiting list."

"No it's a public school, and maybe when she's better. I got to get home."

"I knew that and see ya tomorrow after school. Do you want a lift home?"

"No, I can handle myself. See you tomorrow Axel."

"See ya Skyla." She nodded and walked out of my place.

"Axel!" Ridge shouted.

"What?" I asked walking over to his door. "Is everything okay?" Ridge nodded then shrugged.

"Kinda, Lalna has a nose bleed."

"I'll get some toilet paper." I said walking away. I went to the bathroom and got toilet paper and went back to Ridge's room and walked in and turned on the light. "Here you go." I said handing it over. Lalna got a wad and pressed it to his nose.

"I don't know what I did," He said kinda muffled. "It just started bleeding."

"It happens, it happened a lot to my sister sometimes out of the blue or when she's over heated."

"I feel fine though."

"You're nose might just be dried up." He nodded.

"Ok, um has it stopped yet?"

"No keep it there a little bit longer and you should be fine, I'm going to see how Astrid is doing." I said walking out of the room and back in mine. I sighed when I saw that she kicked the covers off. I recovered her and got the rag wet again. I hope she gets better soon.
