The Dark Hour

"Get your head in the game Astrid you need to focus." Vincent snapped hitting me on top of my head. I flinched and sighed. Practice was never this hard. I picked the wooden sword up. "Now come at me again. We've done this since you were ten. You know what you're doing so do it." I nodded and attacked him but he hit my sword out of my hand and he grab my wrist and twisted it behind my back.

"How are you going to get out of this Astrid?" I smiled and I looked out of the corner of my eye and his head was close enough. I threw my head back and hit him in the face. He let go and I stumbled forward some and got my balance. "Smarter than I thought."

"That's what you get for underestimating me Vincent."

"I never said you couldn't but you've been slacking, you need to keep your guard up someone could come behind you and could kill you." I smiled.

"Maybe you should keep your guard up." He smiled and grabbed Skyla's arm and threw her over his shoulder.

"My guard is always up for being your bodyguard since you were born I learn to keep an eye out everywhere."

"Woah ok, can you put me down? I swear I'm unarmed," Skyla smiled. He sat her down. I laughed.

"Are you okay Sky?"

"I'm fine, just worried I guess."

"About the war and everything else."

"Yeah, Axel's been gone for about thirty minutes now. Do you think he found Ridge?"

"Yeah probably knowing Axel he found him."

"Hey I'm back and I know where your little blond friend is at."

"Where?" Skyla asked quickly standing up.

"King William has him, he's meeting up with Michael."

"Michael! He is General of half of the Angels army!"

"Astrid calm down I'm sure he knows what he's doing."

"I'm confused, why is William taking Lalna to Michael? And who exactly is Michael to Lalna?" Skyla asked confused. I sighed.

"You know that black spot on Lalna's back."

"The swirly thing? Yeah what about it?"

"I'm not sure if Michael is Lalna's dad but Lalna's mom got pregnant by an angel and I believe it's Michael I'm not sure. But Lalna is half human half nonhuman." Skyla blinked then shook her head.

"Ok wait up, Lalna's half human? When did you find this out? And does Lalna even know what he is?"

"He probably doesn't even know, Allison told me when I went to talk to her after I got better. But I do believe that Michael is Lalna's dad."

"So, if Michael is Lalna's dad what does that mean for us?"

"It means that we lose half of the angels army."

"That's not good. We have to stop that from happening."

"That means we have to interrupt that meeting. Ryan where are they."

"In the other world where else. William isn't ready for a war so that's where he would be at."

"Okay Sky go write a note for Axel and Ridge we need you on this us three can't stop this with just us."

"Really? Ok, I'll be right back then." She quickly ran inside. I sighed and Vincent made my wooden sword into a real one. I got the spell ready and Skyla came back.

"You ready?"

"Yeah, I'm so ready for this."

"Okay here drink this since you're full human this transport spell could get you sick."
