The Dark Hour

I was holding Axel's lifeless body in my arms, I can't believe this happened. I trained so this wouldn't happen. Tears were dripping off my face and falling on his lifeless body. I shook my head. He can't be dead, I don't want him to die like Edward did I-I can't let this happen! I screamed out in pain, my heart hurt much more than when Edward died. I looked around and everyone else was either dead or close to it. This can't be happening why is this happening!

"Axel!" I screamed and sat up in bed breathing heavily and crying my eyes out. I looked around and I didn't see him. Soon the door burst open and I was in his arms before I knew it.

"Shh it's okay I'm not going anywhere you're fine." I shook my head.

"Y-You w-were dead."

"Hey... Hey I'm alive see." He said lifting my head. I nodded and hugged him again. I buried my head in his chest and didn't let go I was scared that if I did he would be gone. I heard a laugh and looked up and saw that it was William. My eyes grew wide, he was just Axel.

I screamed and sat up in bed and I felt the bed move and I buried my head in my hands. I felt a hand on my head and looked up and it was Axel in his uniform. I quickly got up and tackled him and we both fell off the bed and I was crying.

"Hey what's wrong Astrid?" He asked sitting us both up.

"I-I..." I couldn't get the words the out what I just saw or whatever that was it was just fucked up. He patted the top of my head.

"Look love I have to go everything is going to be okay. I love you and Ryan and Vincent are down stairs you're going to be safe." He said picking me up. He carried me downstairs and sat me on the couch and kneeled in front of me and kissed my nose. "We can talk about it when I get home okay." I nodded and he wiped away my tears. "I love you."

"I-I love you too." I sniffled. He walked out of the room and I sat there thinking about my dream it was so weird and scary. I really hope that this doesn't happen. I looked at the time and if I wasn't going to get dressed now I would be late. I went up to the room that me and Axel were staying in and put on sweatpants and a hoodie. I grabbed my bag and went out to Ryan's car.

It was lunch and I found Lalna, Ridge, and Skyla. I sat down and sighed. I wasn't really hungry not after what happened this morning. Ryan sat beside me.

"Are you okay?" I nodded. I sat there quiet listening to Ridge's and their conversation.

"So what happened while I was gone?" Skyla asked curiously.

"I learned to use my wings," Lalna said excitedly. "But I still can't fly."

"That's cool, maybe you can show me them after school."

"Ok but you'll have to come to my house."

"Why? Are you not going to Axel's anymore?"

"We can't go to Axel's," Ridge said softly.

"Why not?" Skyla asked confused. Lalna stayed quiet and so did Ridge. "Why are we not allowed to go to Axel's? Guys seriously, you're starting to scare me."

"Cause William knows where he lives. Dean came and was going to take me and Lalna, but Ty went as Lalna to William's place to protect us." I said quietly.

"Ty what?" Skyla asked panicked.

"I didn't know that it was him till he changed his eye color I don't know if they found out yet again, but I'm not sure what he was thinking."

"Well are we going to do something about this?" She asked worriedly. "What will happen to him when they do find out?"

"Then they will kill him or keep him for information, that means they would just want me more dead. They probably think that it was my idea in the first place."

"Then we should work on getting him back. He's been with us for over a month now he probably knows things that they will want to know."

"Yeah but there's not much we can do if I go back there I'm going to end up dying and I'm not taking you guys with me again."

"But-"

"Skyla, he made this choice by himself. He knew what he was getting into," Ridge said softly.

"Let's just hope that they haven't found out." Skyla was quiet for the rest of lunch. The bell rang and I went to my class. I graduate in three days I hope nothing bad happens.

I was walking home to clear my head, Ryan was against it but he soon gave in. I was almost to Ryan's till Vincent showed up. I groaned and looked at him.

"What now?! Can't I be alone for just a little bit?" I asked pulling my beanie down more.

"No you can't why didn't you ride with Ryan? You know that William's spies are out and Dean is probably looking for you Astrid. Think next time and be smart about it! You're supposed to run a kingdom and if you don't start thinking you won't be able to run it properly." I sighed and nodded. He grabbed my wrist and dragged me to Ryan's. I groaned and walked up to the room and face planted into the bed. I didn't have homework and I looked at the cap and gown they are so weird I mean I don't understand why I have to wear it. All well I don't care anyways, after the war is over I would have to go back to run the Kingdom. Ugg why is this all happening?
