The Dark Hour

I hesitated before I knocked on Allison's door. I waited a little bit before it opened.

"Ridge!" Lalna smiled. He quickly hugged me and I hugged him back.

"Hey Lalna, what are you doing up? And where's your mom?" I asked a bit concerned.

"She had to go back to the house for her job," He said softly.

"So you're here alone?"

"Yeah, Ryan had to go do something and my mom left a little while ago."

"Well-" I quickly picked him up and carried him inside. "-you're still sick and you need to rest."

"I'm not tired though," He pouted.

"I know, but you shouldn't be wandering around either," I said sitting down on the couch.

"But I'm bored."

"Well what do you want to do?" I asked setting him down on the couch.

"Walk around, go see what other people are doing."

"I don't think that's a good idea."

"Well I'm tired of staying in here all the time."

"I know you are, but I still don't think you should be walking around while you're sick." Lalna groaned and I sighed. "Sorry but I don't think it's a good idea. We can do something else, like watch a movie or maybe play a game."

"I just want to go outside. Just for a little bit." I sighed.

"Lalna-"

"Please?" He pouted. I bit my lip.

"Lalna please don't do this to me." He sighed then leaned on me.

"I'm just tired of this room."

"I would be too, but I was even more bored without you." I quickly picked him up and he squeaked. "How about we go to a bed? You still need to rest." He sighed.

"Ok." I took him to the bedroom and we laid down. He curled up into my side and I smiled at him.

"It'll be ok, Ryan will figure this out and you'll get better."

"I hope so," He sighed. I kissed his forehead.

"I know he will." Lalna smiled and sighed softly.

"Ok."

I fell asleep and when I woke up Lalna was gone. I searched the whole place. He wasn't here. I ran out to find him when I bumped into Ryan.

"Is everything okay Ridge?"

"No, Lalna's not in his room and I don't know where he went."

"I haven't seen him. He might be with his dad or with Astrid she's back here, check with her." I nodded.

"Where is she? And I thought that he wasn't supposed to be around other angels?"

"Either the lab or her room." I went to Astrid's room first and I knocked on the door.

"Hang on!" The door soon opened. "Oh hey Ridge."

"Hey have you seen Lalna?" She looked back in the room.

"Uh no..."

"Well he disappeared out of his room." She nodded.

"I will keep an eye out for him." I nodded then went to go check Michael's office. Where did he go?
