The Dark Hour

I can't believe this! How?! How could Axel's dad get out on bail he killed his sister and almost killed Axel. This is crazy! Who would help a monster like that? I hit my head on my desk which made my head throb but I didn't care right now. I was pissed how could Axel be so calm about this! I heard my door open and I looked up and it was Axel.

"Astrid, Ryan need you." I sighed and nodded.

"What's wrong?"

"What you made up didn't cure him it just froze it for a while."

"There you are Axel you have a meeting with Prince Sky." I giggled and watched Vincent pull Axel out of the room.

I got to the lab and found Ryan.

"I heard that you needed me?" He nodded.

"I've gone through these books I don't know what the cure would be."

"Ryan we can't just make a cure like that. It takes time but for now we will just have to keep giving him what we made up." He sighed.

"I don't want to keep giving him that. Ridge doesn't either."

"Well it's the best we can do right now till we find a cure." He sighed.

"I know this Astrid."

"So what do we have so far?"

"The colored cards are the ones that froze it or killed it, but I'm not sure which one. The plain cards are the ones that didn't work." I sighed and nodded.

"Okay I'll go through the colored ones and redo them." He nodded and I got to work.

"Astrid wake up!" I quickly shot up and looked around. Ryan sighed and let go of my shoulder. I rubbed my eyes and wiped the drool off of my face.

"Did I fall asleep?" He nodded.

"Yeah, you were out for an hour or so."

"Why didn't you wake me up sooner?"

"I tried, but you wouldn't wake up." Our heads snapped to the door and Ridge was standing there.

"Did the shot that I gave him work?" Ryan asked.

"Yeah I think so, he's sleeping right now."

"That's good, it gives us more time."

"How did you find us?" I asked looking at him.

"I asked Seto and he showed me," Ridge said softly. I nodded, and rubbed my eyes and looked at which one I was on.

"Hey Astrid where did Axel go when he went to go get you?"

"I uh think he might still be in the um meeting with Prince Sky." Ryan nodded.

"Okay."

"So Ridge what have you been up too?"

"Nothing really, um there were these two girls that thought I wasn't human."

"That's weird why wouldn't you be human?" I asked a bit confused. He shrugged.

"I don't know. One of them said something about my eye color but I don't really remember what she said exactly."

"Angels are weird."

"Yeah they tried to trick me into thinking that it wasn't really Ridge. One of the reasons why I don't like angels."

"I can stand them just as long as they-" I was cut off from my phone going off. I looked at the caller ID and it was unknown. I ignored it. "Back to what I was saying.-" Then I was cut off again and it was the same number. "Hello?"
