I was walking to class when I saw Bradley and his friends. I quickly tried to walk away from them, but they saw me.

"Hey pipsqueak!" I tried to run when someone grabbed the back of my hoodie. They yanked me backwards and I slid across the floor. They surrounded me and I quickly got up.

"Where you going pipsqueak?" Bradley asked mockingly.

"Cl-Class," I squeaked.

"You sure?" He asked walking closer to me. I backed up into the wall and shakily nodded.

"Y-Yeah, I-I'm g-going to b-be late if-"

"Oh you're not going to be late, can't be late if you never show up." I went to scream when he quickly ran up to me and covered my mouth. "Don't you think about it." I squeezed my eyes closed, then a miracle happened.

"Hey! What's going on!?" I opened my eyes as someone yanked Bradley backwards and flipped him over their shoulder and onto the ground.

"Run!" One of Bradley's friends yelled. "It's the freak!" They all scattered and Bradley was about to get up and run when someone else stopped him.

"Where do you think you're going?" He asked lowly.

"Cl-Class," Bradley stuttered.

"Better run then." Bradley ran and I just stood there.

"Hey, are you ok?" I looked at the person that flipped Bradley and I was a bit shocked that they were a girl.

"I-I'm fine," I stuttered.

"You sure? Cause that kid has been picking on kids a lot and I can't get it through to him to knock it off." I nodded and the guy walked over to us.

"Is he ok?" He asked softly. The girl nodded.

"Yeah, I think so anyways. What are we going to do about that kid?" She asked.

"We could try and report him again but I don't want to go through all that trouble again."

"Right, oh I didn't even tell you my name. I'm Skyla," She smiled. "And my friend here is Ridge." I nodded and smiled softly.

"I'm Lalna."

"Lalna, Lalna wake up honey." I groaned then slowly sat up and rubbed my eyes.

"What?" I asked groggily.

"I made some soup. Do you want to try and eat it?" My mom asked softly. I nodded.

"Yeah."

"Ok I'll get you a bowl." She left and I sighed. I sniffled and rubbed my eyes again. I jumped a little when I heard someone knocking at the door.

"I'll get it!" My mom called out running to the door. She opened it and sighed. "Hi."

"I'm here to give Lalna his shot his other one is going to wear off soon."

"Ok, he's on the couch."

"Thank you Allison." Ryan said walking into the living room. I looked up at Ryan and sighed.

"Does it really have to come in shots?" I asked softly.

"Sorry Lalna but this is about as good as we can do. I'm working on trying to find a cure but with only four books on this it's hard to find it."

"Ok," I sighed.

"I don't like doing this trust me." He said tying a band around my arm, then he stuck the needle in my arm. I closed my eyes until he was done. "All done." I opened my eyes and rubbed my arm.

"I hate shots."

"Don't worry Ridge was against me giving it to you again."

"He was?" I asked taking the band off my arm.

"Yeah he just wants me to make the cure and get it done and over with but he doesn't understand on how long it would take."

"Oh, ok. Should I talk to him?"

"No, it's fine."

"Ok," I yawned. My mom set a bowl of soup on the coffee table and smiled at me.

"Don't push it ok? If you can't eat it all that's fine," She said softly. I nodded and moved so I was sitting on the floor. "Ryan, can I talk with you in the kitchen?"

"Yeah." They went into the kitchen and I slowly ate my soup. I really wanted Ryan to find the cure to this thing I had. I hated feeling like this.
