The Dark Hour

I got Astrid to calm down enough so we could go back in the courtroom. We sat down in our spots, I looked around.

"What happened?"

"It's recess on a count of lunch," Skyla said boredly. I rolled my eyes.

"Of course." I turned to Astrid. "Remember what we said no more talking." She nodded and entwined our hands. After about an hour they were back. The judge sat down and we started again.

"The defence has no more questions."

"Nor do I. We hand this over to the jury." I sighed and the jury left the room. Astrid walked down to Ridge and hugged him.

"I think we won this you guys." I said standing up and popping my back.

"We don't know for sure if we have or not it's up to the jury, now we just play the waiting game." Astrid said pulling away from Ridge.

"I hate the waiting game," Skyla groaned.

"I think we all do. Skyla."

It was about two hours before the jury was ready, we all took our seats and waited, they handed the piece of paper to the judge.

"Are you sure?" The guy stood up and nodded.

"Yes." The judge gave it back and he opened the piece of paper.

"We find Carl Erza on all charges....guilty."

"24 years in prison, for the kidnapping of Lalna, and abuse of Ridge, court is excused. The state of Washington thanks the jury." Ridge sighed in relief and Lalna hugged him. Astrid smiled and started to cry. Which freaked me out.

"Woah hey Astrid are you okay?" She waved her hand at me. "Uh Skyla you're a girl do you know why she is crying?"

"Hormones probably." I nodded.

"Let's go celebrate."

"Ice cream!" Skyla cheered. I smiled but my smiled faded some.

"Hey you guys, go on ahead I have to go visit someone." Astrid looked back at me.

"Where are you going?"

"I haven't seen my dad for a while I thought that I should say hi."

"After what he did to you?" I nodded.

"Hate to say it, I just like to see how he is doing. He's in there for life."

"Can I come?"

"Are you sure?" She nodded.

"Yeah I don't want you to go alone." I nodded.

"Okay." I kissed the top of her head. "Skyla we are going to go see my dad, we will meet you back up there, here are the beads." I said tossing her three.

"Ok, be careful."

"We will." I grabbed Astrid's hand and I took her to where my dad was at. I turned in my phone into a box and Astrid did the same. We walked into a room and sat down at a table. Soon guards brought my dad out. He smiled.

"Hey son been a few months hasn't it." he laughed and looked at Astrid. "When did you get a girlfriend?"

"She's been with me for a few months, I just wanted to say hi."

"Hey, I've missed you Axel. My you've grown. How is the double job going?"

"I don't work, I also came here to tell you that I'm moving, we are going to live in Astrid's home town. Fresh start." He nodded.

"I see so you're not sure if you're going to see me anymore."

"I might call I haven't made my mind up on that yet." He nodded. After a few more minutes of talking and Astrid dozing in and out I thought that it was time to leave. We were getting ready to walk out of the door till my dad spoke up.

"Hey Astrid, take care of Axel for me, and take care of that baby." My eyes widened. How did he know that Astrid was pregnant? We didn't tell him. He just started to laugh, I quickly got Astrid out of there. We went into an alley and stepped on the beads. We were back in our room. Astrid went to lay down and I was freaking out on how my dad knew about our baby.
