I was walking to school by myself. I sighed and thought about what my dad told me.

"Come straight home after school." I don't know why he wanted me too but I was going to end up listening to him anyways. I was almost there when someone texted me. I quickly checked my phone and sighed.

Astrid- Good morning up date on Ridge he's feeling a little bit better

Skyla- that's good, so my dad isn't going to let me come over

Astrid- okay, will I see you at lunch?

Skyla- maybe, let's just hope so

Astrid- okay well I gotta go I need to get Lalna up he fell back to sleep.

Skyla- ok, good luck with that

Astrid- yeah this is my third time trying to get him up

Skyla- how late did he stay up?

Astrid- idk i went to bed before them

Skyla- ok, well I'll talk to you later then. I'm almost to school

Astrid- okay

I put my phone away and sighed. I walked into the school and went to my first hour, which was art. I started doodling in my book as kids started coming in. The first bell rang and more kids came in. The second bell rang and class began. Mrs. Fisher came in and started talking but I wasn't listening. I wanted to know what my dad was freaking out about. Why was he so paranoid all of a sudden? It didn't make any sense to me.

School was boring as usual and I was walking straight home. I was still thinking as I unlocked my door that I didn't notice that my dad was home until I went inside.

"Skyla." I jumped and dropped my keys.

"The heck Dad!"

"Sorry but there's someone I want you to meet."

"Who?" I asked confused.

"Come on in." I walked in and shut the door behind me. I followed my dad to the living room and I saw a man sitting on the couch.

"Who is this?" I asked looking at my dad.

"Skyla, this is um...."

"Cas. It's just Cas," The man smiled softly.

"Cas. He was a friend of an old friend I had in college."

"Ok, what does that mean for me?"

"Well, Cas has told me there was something coming and that to stay safe we needed to leave."

"Leave? What do you mean leave?"

"Like a vacation. We'll go somewhere else for about a month or so."

"What? I don't want to leave."

"Skyla-"

"No, Dad I still have to pass sophomore year. I have friends here. I have a life right here and you can't just stop everything just because you're scared." My dad went to say something when Cas stopped him.

"Adam calm yourself. She has a point but if you two do stay there's no telling what will become of the both of you."

"I'm not going anywhere," I said firmly. My dad sighed.

"Alright. Cas can you tell Gabe that we're going to be riding through the storm."

"Riding might not be the right term for this Adam," Cas said softly. "But I will tell him." I was so confused.

"You two are not making any sense to me."

"Don't worry about it honey," My dad sighed. "How about you go hang out with your friends for a while?"

"Dad, wh-"

"Just go Skyla." I sighed then ran out of the house.
