The Dark Hour

"So you're a human." I shyly smiled and nodded.

"Y-Yeah, uh..." Why am I so nervous? Lucifer looked down at me with his red eyes. He was kinda scary when he popped up.

"I'm not saying that it's a bad thing, I just didn't think that Astrid would fall for one specially with what happened with Edward. I just didn't see it coming to be honest."

"Oh yeah, we were kinda just opened and honest with each other. I'm surprised that she said yes to me."

"So what all happened? How did she get this way?"

"Uh we went to the medical wing to see how the pregnancy was going and they said that it was like she never was pregnant. Which she had to go through surgery and was in bed. I guess someone switched her pain medication with poison medication and she had a fever." He nodded.

"Prince Axel!" I turned and saw a maid running towards me.

"What is it?"

"Princess is awake she was asking for you." I quickly ran off and went into her room. She was slowly sitting up when I walked over to her.

"Your fever is gone, how are you feeling?"

"I don't know, my head hurts. What happened?"

"You don't remember?" She shook her head.

"I just remember trying to get up and start walking around. Then I got light headed and I don't remember much." I sighed.

"Well I found you passed out on the floor, you had a very high temperature. I had Ryan come over to look at you, he said that you're pain medication was switched with poison pills." She sighed and looked up.

"Uncle Lucifer!" She said a little shocked.

"Hey Kiddo!" A voice behind me said, I looked back and it was Lucifer. I sighed and held Astrid's hand. "I heard what was going on so I thought that I should stop by and see you."

"Have you to met?" I quickly nodded.

"Yeah he scared the shit out of me when he did show up."

"How so?"

"I showed up in my demon form." Astrid bit her lip and started to giggle, then laughed. I looked back at Lucifer and he shrugged.

"Oh my that's just like you Uncle, you always forget to go back into your normal form."

"Yeah sorry, it's a habit. My bad, but how are you feeling?"

"I guess better, I don't feel like anything happened."

"A lot happened." I said looked back at her. She nodded. "You should get more rest we don't know if all the poison is out." Astrid laid back down and rolled over. I sighed and me and Lucifer walked out of her room and I closed the door.

"It seems like you love her."

"Yeah I do."

"But does she feel the same."

"Uh I guess she would since she does say I love you."

"You don't know much about demons. Look sometimes demons do fall in love again but most of the time they don't, like me. I'm surprised that Astrid found someone, cause she really liked Edward. Once they started having feeling for each other they would always find a reason to see each other. If you would see them then you would think that her heart belonged to him. She was very upset when he died. So I'm really happy that she found you. Someone else that she can love."

"Really? So it's hard for demons to move on." He nodded. "Did you ever have a wife?" He smiled and looked at the ground.

"Yeah her name was Crystal she was a witch, she found me in the woods, one of my wings were injured and I couldn't get out of the hunter hole that I was stuck in. It's a cheesy love story I'll save you the time. She did some stupid stuff and got herself killed. I tried to stop her but she is too bullheaded to listen. Since then I haven't really found anyone."

"Wow, that's bad but I bet you will find someone, I mean Astrid did so I guess you can."

"Maybe, just treat her right and I won't have to kill you."

"What?"

"Nothing." He walked away and I sighed.

"Axel!" I froze when I heard Vincent yell my name. "You have work to do!" He grabbed my arm and dragged me back to the library it's going to be a long day.
