The Dark Hour

I walked out of Michael's office to talk to Ryan about my decision. I'm just not ready for any of that. To become Queen and run the country. I don't want to deal with that. Lucifer argued but he said when the time is right I can come back. It's just too much. I made it to Ryan's and Skyla's room. I knocked on the door and Skyla answered.

"Hey Astrid, what are you doing here?" She asked cheerfully.

"I'm here to talk to Ryan about something." I said with a faint smile.

"Ok, let me go get him." I walked into the room while Skyla ran off somewhere.

"I'm going calm down Sky." Ryan said. I laughed some and he rubbed his eyes. "Hey Astrid."

"Hey can I talk to you?"

"Sure I'll make some tea." I walked in and sat on the couch and Skyla joined us. After while Ryan walked in handed me a cup of tea. "What's going on?"

"Um I've decided not to run the country."

"What?"

"I don't want to become Queen."

"What are you doing to do then?" Skyla asked curiously.

"Uh I'm going to have my uncle take over for awhile. Uh me and Ryan are going to move back into his old place. I'm just not ready to run a country."

"I understand it just shocked me that you aren't going to be Queen. I mean that's all you've talked about."

"I know but now since it's here, I just don't feel ready."

"I think it's fine, but what are you going to do if you're not queen?" Skyla asked.

"Go to the Human world. Probably get a job I don't know. Axel is going to have to go back to work soon anyways. He took vacation days." Ryan nodded.

"Okay, you have really thought this through haven't you." I nodded.

"Yeah I have." I said taking a drink of my tea.

"Um just a quick question," Skyla said a bit worried. "Is Ridge still going to live with you guys? Cause technically he doesn't have anywhere else to live."

"Yeah he would, I mean me and Axel share a room anyways. So his room is still the guest room." She nodded.

"Ok, just wondering. He's still got to go to school, and so do I. Crap."

"You still have awhile till school starts up. Won't you be a senior?"

"Junior, Ridge will be a senior," She sighed. I nodded.

"Okay, I just wanted to talk to you guys about what I wanted to do with my life." I said standing up.

"Ok, well good luck with that," Skyla said with a smile. I smiled back.

"I'll try." I said leaving. "See ya later!"

"Bye Astrid!"

"Do you have everything?" Axel yelled.

"Uh I think I have some of my clothes that aren't puffy!" I yelled from my closet.

"Okay well hurry up!"

"Yeah yeah yeah I'm coming." I said grabbing the box, and sitting them down with everything else.

"Is there anything else you need to take?" I shook my head.

"Nope I'm ready!" He nodded and we both age the candy. We were having my uncle use magic to send the boxes to us. I yelped and got out of the way when they fell from the ceiling. Axel laughed, and I rolled my eyes.

"Okay this place is a mess." I said looking around.

"Well what do you expect we haven't been here for a few months." I laughed and walked over to the window and opened and dust went everywhere and I coughed.

"Careful there Astrid." I grabbed a dust rag and got to work.

After two hours the place was clean I collapsed on the floor and Axel made us some lemonade. He said down next to me, I took a sip and it felt good. I wiped sweat from my forehead.

"That took forever."

"Yeah but we got it done." I laughed and nodded.

"Yeah we did. I'll get the laundry and hang it up outside. It's hot enough to hang it up." Axel nodded.

"Okay but we can take a break first. It feels good not being called a Prince every five minutes." I nodded.

"Try being called that you're whole life."

"I couldn't even imagine." He said with a slight chuckle. I shook my head and leaned back, against the couch.

"It feels good to be back here." Axel nodded. "Oh I took some money so we have enough for food and you can go back to work tomorrow." Axel nodded.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes I will if anything I'll be with my family. Meaning I didn't tell you. I'm related to Cas, which means I'm related to all four Angel leaders and their kids. That me and me and Lalna are related so are me and Ty."

"Damn your family is huge." I nodded.

"Yeah I'm going to go check on the laundry." I said leaving and going outside and grabbing the dry clothes.
