I woke up with Lalna curled up into my side. I smiled and yawned. Lalna groaned and shifted a bit. I didn't move, and I just waited for him to relax and fall back into a peaceful sleep. I sighed a bit then there was a crash in the living room. Lalna woke up and rubbed his eyes.
"What was that?" He asked tiredly.
"I don't know," I said quietly. I sat up and Lalna got up too. We both went to the living room and we saw a broken plate on the floor.
"What happened?" Lalna asked a bit worried.
"I don't know."
"Astrid I told you to be careful."
"I said that I was sorry!"
"I just mopped."
"I heard you I thought that it was dry."
"You didn't cut yourself did you."
"I don't think so but my ankle hurts."
"You slipped and fell I wonder why."
"Axel?" I asked tiredly. "What happened?"
"I just got done mopping and Astrid slipped and fell."
"Is she ok?" Lalna asked worried.
"I'm fine, my ankle just hurts."
"Ok, we just heard a crash and wanted to know what was going on."
"Yeah sorry to wake you. Astrid don't even think about getting up."
"It's fine," I yawned. "I can't really sleep anyways."
"Why?" Astrid asked.
"I've been getting headaches."
"Do you want me to get you something?" Axel asked worried.
"Do you have any ibuprofen?" I asked rubbing the side of my head.
"Yeah I have something." I went back to the living room and sat down on the couch. Lalna sat down beside me and sighed.
"Are you ok?" Lalna asked softly.
"Sort of."
"Sort of?"
"It's nothing, just headaches." He nodded.
"Ok."
"Here you go Ridge." Axel said holding out his hand. I took a couple of pills and sighed.
"What is it?"
"Ibuprofen."
"Ok." I got up and went to the kitchen to get a cup of water. I had just grabbed a cup when a loud clap of thunder rumbled overhead.
"Don't touch it!" Astrid yelled. I jumped and dropped the cup on the counter. It shattered and I froze.
"Opps," I muttered.
"Are you okay in there Ridge?"
"I dropped a cup," I called out.
"Okay you didn't cut yourself did you?"
"I don't think so."
"Okay just make sure it all gets picked up. Astrid stop moving." I sighed then looked out the window. I blinked then carefully walked over to it. It wasn't raining, and there weren't any clouds.
"Um Axel, what made that noise?" I asked a bit uneasy.
"I don't know, it sounded like thunder."
"But there's no clouds, and it's not even raining."
"Then I don't know." I sighed then quietly went outside through the back door. I looked around and everything seemed normal. Where did that-
Another clap of thunder roared out and I jumped. Over the city something was happening, the sky was turning orangish red and clouds were starting to form. I quickly went back inside then ran into Skyla.
"Woah, what were you doing outside?" She asked quickly.
"Have you seen what's happening outside?" I countered.
"Yeah, I can see it through the window!"
"Ridge did you figure it out?" Astrid asked.
"It's not thunder. Look at the sky." I looked back out the window and saw something coming out of the clouds.
"What the heck are those?" Skyla asked worried. I squinted a bit, it kinda looked like people but with wings.
"You have got to be kidding me." Astrid yelled.
"What is it?" Skyla asked.
"Um it's kinda hard to explain, but I gotta go find someone you guys just stay here." She said getting her shoes on and leaving.
"What was that about?" I asked confused. Skyla shrugged.
"I don't know." I sighed then went back to the living room. Something felt off. I looked around then it hit me. Where was Lalna?
