"So William sent you to retrieve Lalna?" I asked curiously. Ty nodded.
"Y-Yeah, h-he needs to get some of the angels out of the war i-if he wants to win."
"So he just wants to use Lalna as a leverage token?" Ty nodded.
"K-Kinda." I nodded.
"Ok, so you're thirteen?" He nodded.
"Yeah."
"How long have you been working for William?"
"S-Seven years."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"Why do you even work for him?"
"I don't have a choice. H-He killed my mom and I don't know who my dad is. I don't have anywhere else to go and I'm um useful to him."
"Useful?"
"I can um, change my appearance, shadow travel, and control shadows."
"Damn it Astrid I swear you're going to die one of these days!" Ryan yelled from outside. I sighed.
"How about we go see what's going on?" Ty nodded. "Ok, come on." We went to the back yard and I saw Ryan healing Astrid.
"Would you just hurry up!"
"Vincent don't you think this has gone too far?"
"No, I need to train her so what happened last time won't happen again. Specially with what happened to Edward. We don't need that to happen to Astrid."
"Vincent would you shut up! We aren't suppose to talk about that!" Ryan yelled at him.
"No Ryan it's okay I'm just ready to fight again." Astrid said standing up.
"Who's Edward?" Ty asked.
"Ty don't ask she doesn't like talking about it. And Astrid I'm not done healing you."
"It's good enough and Edward was my fiance."
"Um what was his last name?" Astrid laughed then smiled.
"Edward Skyland."
"Oh that's my last name. I-I heard about him from my mom."
"Really?" Ty nodded.
"Astrid let me finish healing you."
"Fine." Astrid said sitting down.
"Wait a second, does that make you related to him?" I asked Ty. He sighed softly.
"I-I think he was my older brother."
"Probably I don't like talking about it can we just stop."
"S-Sorry," Ty stuttered.
"It's fine just a touchy subject." Ty nodded then sat down on the porch.
"So what are you guys even doing?" I asked sitting down by Ty.
"We're trying to get my magic levels up and get me better with a sword since I haven't pratice with one since I got here two months ago."
"Ok, we're just going to watch."
"Are you sure Skyla things do get a little bloody?" Ryan asked concerned.
"Yeah, I'll be fine."
"Okay just be careful and try to stay out of harm."
"I'm sure I'll be fine right here."
"Okay. Astrid don't do anything stupid."
"I'll try not to!" She yelled back. I rolled my eyes and sighed. Ty was pressing himself into the wall and watching them worriedly. Astrid charged at Vincent, he avoided her attack and hit her in the back, Astrid attacked him again and he hit the sword out of her hands. The next thing I knew the world went dark then I was sitting in the grass under the tree behind where Astrid and Vincent were training. Where I was a second ago was where Astrid's sword was now stuck into the wall.
"Oh my god Skyla you're not hurt are you!?" Ryan asked running over to me.
"I-I don't think so. What the heck happened?"
"Um I-I shadow traveled over here with you," Ty said quietly. "I d-didn't want you to get hurt." I sighed then smiled at him.
"Thanks Ty."
"I'm just glad that you're okay."
"Yeah, I think I might just stay inside. You should be careful Ryan," I said standing up.
"I will, I'm use to standing around while they are training." I nodded and sighed.
"Ok, come on Ty." Ty nodded and quickly got up and followed me inside. We sat down in the living room and I turned on some cartoons. I hoped no one loses a head or something.
