The Dark Hour

I was sitting upside down on the couch, watching a movie called Nine. Never heard of it, or anything. The door opened and Axel came back.

"Food!" He yelled I quickly got up and walked to Ridge's room and knocked on the door. Lalna opened the door and rubbed his eyes.

"What is it?" He asked tiredly.

"Dinner is here, is Ridge still sleeping?" He nodded.

"Yeah, I've had to switch out the wash rag on his head three times in the past hour."

"Okay, we'll let him sleep for now, let's go eat."

"Ok, what is it?"

"Mexican." I said walking to the dining room.

"Ok, I guess Skyla picked it out."

"Yeah, I've been sitting upside down on the couch."

"Okay Skyla this one is yours, Astrid I didn't know what you wanted so I got you shrimp nachos and I didn't know what to get you Lalna so I hope a burrito is fine." Lalna nodded.

"Yeah it's fine."

"Okay when Ridge wakes up I'll make him some soup or a smoothie."

"Thank you Axel." I said sitting back down watching the movie.

"NO! How could they!?" I shouted I turned to Skyla with tears in my eyes. "How could they do that!?"

"They're machines. They were programed to do that. I'm just upset that 6 basically sacrificed himself to the others. He was one of the little ones and he was so sweet."

"No!!! It's no fair!"

"At least they stopped it, and that 3 and 4 survived. Those two are cute."

"B-B-But i-it's still not f-f-fair! They all should've survived."

"I warned you not to get attached."

"I don't like this movie!"

"Ok ok, I'm sorry." I wiped my eyes and I heard Axel sighed.

"It's late Skyla you should get home and Astrid you need to get to bed."

"Ok," Skyla sighed taking her movie out of the DvD player. "I'll see you guys tomorrow. Maybe?"

"Maybe? Won't you be at school?"

"No, my dad might not let me come over."

"What why?!"

"Like I said he's acting more paranoid."

"Aww." I pouted. "I missed you at lunch the other day."

"Yeah, my dad took me out of school to eat. Apparently you can do that."

"Okay, we will see you when we can." She nodded.

"Bye." She left and I groaned and fell on the floor on my back. Axel walked over to me.

"What are you doing?"

"Dying."

"I don't think so." He said picking me up. I yelped and wrapped my arms around his neck. "Can't breath." He said.

"Sorry." I said losing my grip. He laid me down on the bed and covered me up. I quickly grabbed his arm.

"What?"

"Can you stay in here for the night?"

"Why?"

"Incase I have a nightmare."

"That movie wasn't scary though."

"It wasn't the movie." I felt the bed sink in.

"Then what is it?"

"My past, lately I've been having nightmares I just didn't want to bother you." He sighed and rolled me over and he laid down.

"Everything is going to be okay." I nodded and curled up and fell asleep.

"Astrid would you wake up!" I jolted up and fell off the bed.

"What the hell?!" I yelled at Axel. He laughed and helped me up.

"Come on you need to get ready for school." He patted the top of my head and he walked out of the room. I sighed and got dressed for school.
