The Dark Hour

I turned and looked at Skyla.

"Do you think he's mad?" She smiled.

"He'll get over it."

We went back in the front room when the door opened and Axel walked in.

"What did I miss?" I looked at Skyla.

"Should we tell him or wait till Ridge does?" She was bouncing on her feet.

"Let Ridge do it."

"Okay, nothing much."

"Okay, did you get your homework done?" I nodded.

"Yes I did so I'm homework free for this weekend." I sat down and started to eat my dinner.

"I take it Ridge and Lalna are still sleeping?"

"Nope," Skyla said bouncing onto the couch. "They're up."

"Are they not going to eat?"

"They have food."

"Okay well I'm going to hit the hay I'm tired."

"How can you be tired? It's Friday."

"I had work this morning, training then work tonight and I'm tired."

"That sucks." He nodded and left.

"Hey Sky did you ever find out why your dad didn't want you to come home that one night?" I asked taking a sip of water. She shook her head.

"Nope, he won't tell me."

"Okay, so I talked to Allison today."

"Ok about what?"

"The whole she didn't freak out over I was, she had friends that were angels and shapeshifter. So there's other people out there like me. Which I'm glad that I'm not the only one."

"That's also scary. What if some of them are bad?"

"Oh, I never thought of that, I'm sure I can handle the bad ones I mean it can't be that hard can it."

"Ok but all of us? We're human, like soft and squishy. We are not as strong as some of the things out there." I giggled.

"I know this I've been here for a while, I'll protect you guys." I said sticking my tongue out at her.

"Thanks, but you're not always going to be there are you?"

"I don't know, I don't think I'll be able to go home anytime soon. Someone stormed the castle and I don't even know if my family is okay." I said pulling my knees up to my chest and burying my head in them. Skyla sighed.

"I'm sorry." I shook my head.

"I-I'm just going to go to bed." I said curling up on the couch and hiding under the blankets. I didn't want them to see me cry over something that's out of our hands. There was nothing I could do.

I woke up to someone shaking me. I groaned and sat up and looked around and notice everyone was in swimsuits.

"What's going on?" I asked a bit confused.

"We're going out to the lake, come on let's get going," Skyla said excitedly.

"I don't have a swim suit though."

"Here it was my sisters you can have it you're about as small as her." Axel said handing me a swimsuit. I got up and went to the room. It was a two piece, blue with orange polka dots and a orange bow between the goodies and two on the sides of the bottom. I grabbed a hoodie and slipped it on over and tugged on some sandals. I got a towel and walked out.
