I groaned and slowly opened my eyes. I think I was in a hospital but it didn't seem like a hospital. I tried to sit up then I hissed at a large pain in my side. I laid back down and sighed. What happened? How did I get here? I heard footsteps and I looked up as a doctor came in.

"Hi, how are you feeling? Any pain?" She asked.

"Um my side," I said softly. She nodded.

"I'm going to give you a shot of morphine."

"O-Ok." She grabbed a needle and put clear liquid in it.

"You're going to feel a pinch." I nodded and bit my lip. She stuck the needle in my arm, and pulled it out. "All done."

"Ok, so do you know what happened? Like how did I get here?" I asked softly.

"Michael brought you in." She said checking my heart rate.

"He did?" She nodded. "Was he mad?"

"No he was more freaking out." I bit my lip and nodded.

"Ok, um how bad was I when I came in?"

"You had a pretty good gash on your side and your leg, if the person that attacked you got any higher on your leg, you probably would of bleed to death even if Michael didn't find you in time." I nodded.

"Ok, has anyone came to see me or..."

"Um a kid with blond hair, and a girl."

"Oh great," I muttered.

"Ridge!" I jumped as Skyla ran over to me and hugged me. "You're ok."

"Ow, Skyla," I winced.

"Oh sorry, I wasn't thinking," She said quickly.

"The morphine should kick in soon." I nodded and sighed.

"Ok thank you."

"I'm doctor Riley if you need anything just call." I nodded. Skyla sighed then crossed her arms.

"What did you do?" She asked slightly disappointed.

"Um, you see Layla was being attacked then we found her brother after I froze the guy attacking her. Then-"

"Wait wait wait, froze the guy?"

"Oh right I didn't tell you. I-I'm sort of a water elemental," I said softly. She blinked then sighed.

"Ok, Ryan owes me ten bucks."

"What?" I asked a bit confused.

"Nothing. Continue your story."

"So Layla was fine and we found her brother then this guy started attacking me so I kinda forced Valerie to go back to the base and Layla and her brother left. I was waiting for an opportunity to go and, um this kinda happened." She groaned.

"Ridge."

"I'm not dead."

"I can see that but still, why Ridge?"

"I didn't want anyone else to get hurt," I said softly.

"But you got hurt, which is worse for Lalna and me!" I was about to say something when the curtain opened.

"Thank god you're okay." Layla said out of breath.

"I'm fine," I said quickly.

"Yeah after you got stabbed in the side and leg," Skyla said rolling her eyes. Layla looked at the ground.

"Sorry for not being able to help. Valerie is really worried about you."

"She is?" I asked softly. She nodded.

"I tried to get her to come with me but she won't step into the medical bay."

"Why?" Skyla asked curiously.

"I'm not sure, I think she feels bad for not being able to help. I can try to get her in here."

"You don't-"

"Please, I think they need to talk," Skyla said cutting me off. Layla nodded and ran off.

"Skyla, why did you-"

"If she's so worried about you then she should be in here," She said plainly. "And I can not be the only one that sees how much you two look alike. I swear you two are twins or something."

"That's what Layla said," I mumbled.

"Layla, no! I don't-"

"Shut up and get in there!" Layla basically dragged Valerie in by her wrist and Valerie did not look happy about it. I sat up and hissed at the slight pain in my side. It didn't hurt as much but it still hurt. "You aren't leaving till you tell him what Hannah told you."

"Layla not now," Valerie said softly. "Can't it wait till he gets out of here?"

"And what if that isn't any time soon, Valerie please just go ahead and get it off of your chest."

"What is it?" I asked quickly. Valerie looked at me then back at Layla.

"I don't know how he's going to react and I don't want him to hurt himself," She said stubbornly.

"He won't, the most it's going to do is shock him."

"How do you know? We just met him less than a week ago."

"Hey I'm right here!" I said annoyed. "Just tell me what the heck you two are talking about."

"Tell him." Layla said sternly. Valerie groaned then pulled a piece of paper out of her pocket and handed it to me before she ran out of the medical bay. "Valerie!" Layla yelled running after her. I carefully unfolded the paper and looked at it. I read through it then froze up. The test was positive.

"Ridge? Are you ok?" Skyla asked gently. I nodded and put the paper down.

"Y-Yeah, I just umm... I need to talk to Valerie," I said slowly getting up.

"Woah, hey. I don't think you should be up yet," She said quickly, trying to get me to lay back down.

"No Skyla I need to talk to her. It's important." She sighed.

"Ok, but let me find a wheelchair first. I don't want you to hurt your leg anymore than it is." I sat back down on the bed and nodded.

"Ok." She left and I sighed. I had a sister.
