The Dark Hour

*few hours later*

I sighed and hid under the covers, I heard the door open and peaked out and saw Skyla and Axel. I slowly sat up and looked at them.

"Hey you're awake." Axel said pulling a white bag out of his bag. I sighed and looked at it.

"What's that?"

"The medicine that Allison put you on."

"How was school?" I asked looking up at Skyla.

"Boring, and also have you seen Ridge and Lalna? They're both just sleeping on the couch just all tangled together." I shook my head.

"I saw them when they were awake cause I thought that they were Axel, and Ridge made me go back to bed."

"You got out of bed?"

"Yeah." I squeaked out.

"Astrid you can't be getting out of bed." Axel said walking into the bathroom. He came back and looked at me. "Open and stick this under your mouth." I did as he said and after a few seconds it beeped. "215.99. You're still running a fever don't get out of bed." I nodded and sighed.

"I'm hungry."

"I'll make you a smoothie." Axel walked out of the room and I took the pills that he gave me. I made a nasty face.

"These do not taste good."

"Most pills don't."

"I never got sick before so I don't take pills as much as humans do." Skyla shrugged.

"I don't get sick that much either."

"I don't want to be in bed." I sighed and looked around. "There's nothing to do."

"Well we can ask Axel to move you to the living room so you could at least watch TV." I nodded.

"Okay."

"Okay here is you're smoothie, movie night?" Axel asked. Skyla nodded.

"It's Friday."

"Okay, pizza or should I cook something?"

"I don't care."

"I'll cook like spaghetti or something I have around here. Okay I'll carry Astrid into the front room and you wake up Ridge and Lalna. Last time I did Ridge punched me in the face." Skyla giggled.

"Ok I'll do it." Axel nodded, Skyla walked out and I carried my smoothie as he carried me and sat me on the loveseat, he walked into the kitchen as Ridge and Lalna sat up.

"Afternoon."

"What time is it?" Ridge asked rubbing his eyes.

"5:30!" Axel called out from the kitchen.

"Feel better since you guys got a nap from running?" Ridge nodded and Lalna smiled softly.

"Oh that reminds me," Ridge sighed. "Axel! I need to tell you something!"

"What is it?"

"When Lalna and I were walking here my uncle was in his car behind us. I think he was trying to follow us."

"What the hell? He followed you all the way here?!" Axel sighed "That's it I'm going to be taking you guys to school and picking you up no questions asked got it."

"He didn't follow us all the way here. We ran down different alleys till we got to your street then ran to the house."

"I don't care I don't want him to try anything." Ridge nodded.

"Ok."

"Okay, Astrid how are you doing on that smoothie?"

"Good I'm good."

"Okay, do you guys have any homework you need to get done?" Ridge shook his head and so did Lalna.

"I got mine done at my house," Skyla said plopping down on the couch beside Ridge.

"Okay I just want to make sure. Lalna why don't you pick out the movie this time." He nodded.

"Ok, what movies do you have?"

"There in the drawer under the TV." Lalna got up and started looking thru the drawer just as Skyla's phone started ringing. She quickly answered it.

"Hello?... I'm at Axel's... What do you mean don't come home?... Dad you're not making any sense, why can't I come home?... No I don't understand." She groaned and walked over to Axel. "He wants to talk to you."

"Okay....Hi Skyla's dad.....yeah she can....um....I'm not really understanding....okay okay geesh she can stay....okay bye..." Axel sighed. "Your dad wants you to stay here I don't quite understand why, he wasn't making any sense."

"What's going on?" I asked worriedly. Skyla sighed.

"I'm staying here. My dad is freaking out about something and he locked down our house so I can't get in." I nodded.

"Okay, so it's like one giant sleepover." She nodded.

"I guess."

Everyone was eating dinner and watching the movie that Lalna picked out. I stretched out and I winced when pain shot threw my arm. I looked and it was bleeding. I poked Axel.

"What?"

"My arm is bleeding."

"Crap okay stay there." He got up and went to the bathroom and brought back the first aid kit, he took off the old bandages and put on new ones. I went to go readjust when I got dizzy. "Astrid are you okay?" I shook my head. "Let's get you back in bed." I went to go stand up but got even more dizzier and started to see spots. I lost balance but Axel caught me and I blacked out.

I woke up to voices. I think it was Axel with Skyla and someone else.

"She told me that she was getting dizzy so I was going to help her into bed and she just passed out."

"That's not good. Should we call Allison?"

"Yeah I think we should it's after midnight right."

"Yeah, it's close to one."

"Okay yeah go ahead and call I think she's getting worse."

"Ok, I'll get the number from Lalna."

"Ridge can you get me another bowl of cold water?"

"Yeah, hold on."

"A-Axel it's hot,"

"Your fever spiked again just lay there and try to calm down." I shook my head. My stomach felt like it was in knots and I could puke any minute. I started to cough and Axel quickly handed me the trash can and I puked up what I had for dinner which was just the smoothie. I groaned and laid back down. I curled up in a ball under the covers.

It was a good twenty minutes before Allison and Skyla came in the room. My chest tightened up and I felt like I couldn't breath.

"Thank you for coming I think she's getting worse, she couldn't keep down her smoothie and she passed out."

"Alright, anything else?"

"No she hasn't really said if she's hurting or anything."

"Alright, how has her fever been doing? And has her nausea gotten better at all?"

"Um she could keep lunch down, and she's only puked once which was just a few minutes ago, and her fever was down but it spiked."

"I'll give her stronger medication, see if that helps."

"Okay, thank you. I freaked out once she passed out I didn't know what else to do we I had Skyla call."

"It's ok. I'll get the medicine to you as soon as I can."

"Okay. Thanks again Allison." She nodded and walked out of the room. "Come on you need to get some sleep." I nodded and closed my eyes. I heard the door close and I curled up in a ball and went back to sleep.
