The Dark Hour

"Lalna!" I shouted running after him. "Wait!"

"Dad!" He shouted. I sighed. We saw Michael go in with Gabriel and we tried to stop them but Michael went in anyways and I'm sure Gabriel was in here by now too. Lalna ran after his dad and I ran after him cause I'm scared he's going to get hurt. My leg hurt a lot but I didn't want to lose him. We kept running until we ran into Skyla and Valerie, literally. I crashed into Valerie and we both hit the ground.

"Ridge!" Valerie said quickly pulling me up. "The hell are you doing here? I thought you were supposed to stay outside?"

"Lalna ran in and I ran after him," I said quickly. Skyla pulled Lalna up and sighed.

"You two need to get out of here, now," Skyla said firmly.

"No, my dad's here," Lalna said worriedly. "I got to tell him that Astrid is getting Cas."

"Where is he?" Skyla asked.

"Come on," Lalna said taking her hand. They ran off and I was going to go follow them when Valerie stopped me

"They can handle that, we still need to get Layla." I nodded and followed Valerie. Then we heard a scream coming from a room.

"Never! I won't tell you!"

"Layla!" Valerie shouted running towards the room we heard it from. She kicked down the door and I ran in after her.

"What the hell?"

"Val!"

"Get away from her!" Valerie yelled angrily. She blasted the guy with a fireball. He tried to block it but failed. He hit the wall and screamed out in pain. His whole arm was covered in second and third degree burns. Valerie ran over to Layla then quickly looked her over.

"What the hell did they do to you?" She growled.

"Burned me, sealed my magic."

"Those little fuckers," She growled lowly. Her hands burst into blue flames and she quickly got away from Layla.

"Val please calm down! I'm fine now." Layla said trying to calm her down. "You can't let your emotions get the best of you!"

"I can't calm down!" Valerie shouted. The room was getting hotter and I quickly grabbed Layla's arm and pulled her away from Valerie.

"We need to get out of here," I said softly. "She's going to burn down the building if it gets any hotter." Layla shook her head.

"I don't want to leave without her though."

"Layla no can touch her or get near her. She'll be fine, but we have to go if we don't want to get burned," I said quickly pulling her out of the room. The room exploded into flames and I pushed Layla behind me as I forced a water main to burst, causing water to spray everywhere. Layla yelped.

"I hope you're right."

"Come on," I said quickly pulling Layla behind me. We started running to the exit but the building was catching fire really quickly. I saw the door but I also saw the burning support beam above it. I wasn't going to make it, but Layla was soaked from the water main and I could move the water in her clothes. The beam creaked and I sighed softly before I pushed Layla out the door. She made it just before the beam broke and fell right in front of the exit.

"Ridge!"

"I'm fine!" I shouted. "I just need to find another way out!"

"Just be careful!"

"I will!" I ran back down the hall and avoided the walls and anything that was falling over. The fire was spreading fast, and the building was falling apart. I didn't see anyone in the building as I ran through the halls, that was a good thing at least. I turned a corner and stopped just before the ceiling caved in front of me. I covered my face with my sleeve and tried to block out the smoke but it was getting too thick. I turned around and the ceiling was caved in behind me too. I was trapped.

I got down on the floor and I tried to find another water main. Maybe I could make a way through the fire so I could get out. I found one just as something above me snapped. I quickly pulled the water up just as the ceiling above me started to collapse. I covered my head and I heard a small crackling noise. I looked up and I saw that I was in a small dome of ice. The ice was cracking and I bit my lip. I hope everyone else got out. The ice broke and I felt something hit the back of my head before I blacked out.
