I watched my dad tug me into my cozy single plain-colored bed with a small smile, and every second he would make eye contact with me to make sure I was fine. I would reply with the same small smile.

"Dad, are my eyes weird? Why do people stare at me like I'm a monster?" I asked, breaking the comfortable silence that enveloped us.

His hands froze on the fluffy big blanket, and slowly he made eye contact with me. His hazel eyes held a hint of sadness that I couldn't comprehend. "Honey, they aren't weird but... unique. Those beautiful red eyes of yours would always take my breath away. You are no monster, my child. One day when you grow up, you'll find more unique things about yourself."

Confusion lingered in my sleepy mind as I processed his words. Before I could delve deeper into my thoughts, he quickly avoided eye contact, stood up on his feet, and walked towards the door. Just before closing the door, he said his final words, the weight of his words hanging in the air. "... I won't be. Let's just say, I got a mission. Will you be a strong girl for me and bear everything till I get back?"

Too sleepy to fully comprehend his rough voice, I nodded my head and replied, 'Yes, sir.'

That was the last time I saw him, the moment my eyes popped open. My father was gone, as if he never existed. Even my mother seemed oblivious to his absence. The name David Hart was never heard before, and every nightmare I had ever had became true.

Days turned into weeks, weeks into months, and there was no sign of my father's return. I clung to his words, promising to be a strong girl, but the weight of his absence became heavier with each passing day. Questions haunted my every waking moment, and the once warm and comforting bed now felt lonely and cold.

I found solace in retracing his steps, trying to uncover the mystery of his sudden disappearance. The more I delved into his past, the more I discovered about his enigmatic mission. My father, it seemed, was involved in something beyond the ordinary, something that had erased him from the memories of everyone around me.

As I navigated through the unknown, I couldn't help but wonder about the unique aspects he mentioned—the red eyes, the mysterious mission. Were these the pieces of a puzzle that held the key to his whereabouts? I was determined to uncover the truth and bring my father back, no matter how extraordinary or perilous the journey might be.

In the midst of uncertainty, my father's words echoed in my mind, urging me to be strong. With newfound determination, I embarked on a quest to unravel the secrets of my father's disappearance, clinging to the hope that one day I would reunite with the man who made my world complete.
