The next day....

Aciano's in a funk about another butterfly showing up with partially frost wings. The only visible images were of the kids being reunited with their families. The debrief of the mission in the clocktower was blurry along with something the butterfly had murmured was happening at the Hotel before going silent again just like the first butterfly.

He told Caliban and Viviana about this in private and on the outside Caliban smiled and told him that his memories will disclose themselves to him in time.

Caliban liked to say that he was okay with this new reoccurring development of butterflies returning with frosted wings...It meant that Aciano's closer than ever to getting his memories back...Caliban liked to say he was okay with that but in truth—he wasn't okay.

Someday he was going to lose his best friend, he knows that and he's struggling to make peace with that—but that wasn't the issue.

He sighed softly as the acid rain clouded the fabricated sunlight behind those Hellish clouds. *How fitting for there to be rain right after Aciano's butterfly returned with it's wings frosted alongside my heart...* That nagging ache in his chest refuses to leave him in peace the more he thought about those butterflies. He bowed his head and stood up before heading inside.

Whenever he's emotionally conflicted like this he goes down his private checklist of his usual places to relax...

The first place he went to was the ritual room to practice his fire control through meditation. The Night-Sisters welcome him and though they were concerned about the reason he was in need of meditation he waved off their concern with a smile and sat down in the middle of the alter stone. He focused on his breathing and channeled his fire through his breathing.

His fire was more yellowish green than the dark green the Night-Sisters were concerned with seeing

His fire was more yellowish green than the dark green the Night-Sisters were concerned with seeing. He wasn't really angry at all, he was emotionally conflicted about how Aciano's going to handle learning that for all the centuries they've spent as friends that Caliban's spent lying to his face. He was conflicted and anxious about what his role in Aciano's future within Hell will be...if he'll even be a part of it once the truth comes to light. All that worrying caused him to spiral until meditation became a pointless nightmare for him.
