"I won't be like that Stupid-Head! I'll fight him and protect everyone My Way!"

His parents had smiled then, blissfully uaware that his creative little mind was already forming up plans that would change and become more finely tuned as he got older.

Now...he's gone and broke all of the fragile trust he had with his family in one smug-ass self-centered moment.

Caliban knew his family didn't mean to make him feel like this...but his treatment of Viviana put a wedge between all of them. His dad's to busy showing Viviana the tools of the torturing trade and treats her like a daughter to notice the turmoil of his son's emotions. Every time Caliban's sensitive ears heard Viviana's giggling laughter over another torture device, or her cute bat squeaks whenever she's with Aciano or Grimm Fang his heartbeat always quickens involuntarily.

His auntie Elizabeth tends to her Crows and Ravens in the aviary and often leaves him alone to brood in silence. She leaves without saying a word. It's bad enough she's giving him the silent treatment but it's been four days and Aciano's hardly spoken to him at all!

Choosing to spend all of his time with Viviana who's practically shunned all of Caliban's attempts at apologizing to her as though he were a leper!

Caliban's mother is the only one alongside the Night-Sisters to notice the inner turmoil but not in great length. His mother gives him sad understanding look and says to give it time, but he doesn't want to go another day like this!!!

And now Caliban's believing that the problem was him all along...he was the problem—for everything.

Caliban knows he's not perfect, no matter how hard he tries...

He sighed. "I'm not like my parents...I will Never be like my uncle...so why does it feel like all I'm good for is disappointing everyone I know and love?"

He opened his hand and channeled his flames into shape using the trick his mother taught him. He forlornly watches the flaming greenish yellow dragon flying around in circles above his opened palm.

His mother said the color of the flames from their family have the unique ability to not only represent the emotional nature of the individual, but it also takes on the shape of the person's soul.
