I know year 2020 has already come and gone for us...
Josephine set a peacefully sleeping Clementine down in her cradle within the nursery of their swampland home knowing it likely wasn't going to be a quiet night. Nyx immediately and softly jumped into the cradle and curled up with Clementine to keep her warm. Nyx was purring softly in her sleep. Freckles was acting as the stuffed animal bodyguard at the opposite end of the cradle. Josephine placed the baby blanket over her child and spoke softly.
"Do you really think they'll try getting into the swamp Ally?"

Josephine turned and immediately glared at her husband.

She had a unspoken rule of no loading firearms in the nursery.

Alastor was oblivious to her glaring as he loaded the bullet and another click sounded.
He finally spoke. "Try? I know they will because I'm letting them in—undeterred." He grinned vindictively at that before snapping his fingers and the gun equipment vanished but not the gun. Alastor stood up and silently handed the loaded gun to his wife with a softly spoken voice. "May you never have to use it."
Josephine's hand shook slightly as she grabbed the gun. It felt heavy in her hands. Alastor took her chin with just his index finger and lifted her head to kiss her lips. "I will be back. Hopefully with dinner for the next few weeks."
Josephine smiled softly and giggled. "Go show them why they should fear your name honey. Go have some fun."
Alastor looked over his shoulder and chuckled with a vicious grin.
