( Flashback )

She floated towards the boy and watched him realize that he wasn't dead and still alive.

'Huh? Am I... dead?' he thought.

"No, you're not dead."

She watched as he slowly peeked his eyes open and his eyes instantly went wide to see that he was hanging in the middle of the air, almost like time stopped.

"Huh? What the-"

"I gotta admit, you just accepting your fate like this is not something I was looking forward to."

"What? Who said that?"

"Me."

She watched him lift his head and saw her floating there.

"W-What? Who are you?"

'As much as I don't have a real name... I think this will work to cover my tracks.' Lily thought.

"Hah- I figured you'd ask. Lily Grimm, I'm a Grim Reaper." Izuku froze.

"Huh? But I thought Grim Reapers didn't exist!"

"Usually they don't, not until you die at least." she said.

"Wait- what does that mean?!?!"

"Let's see here..."

Lily ignored the greenette and pulled out a large book and opened to read what was on the page.

"Izuku Midoriya, age 14 and is a student at Aldera Junior High. Hmm... not a lot of information for me to read, not interesting at all." Lily said.

"Wait- hold on, you know who I am?"

"I'm the Grim Reaper, of course I know everyone, and I know that your life should not end here."

"Uh- I-I beg your pardon?"

Lily shut the book and crossed her arms.

"You don't look like the kind of person to give up your life so easily, and though that sounds like something from a comic book, I'm being honest. I can easily tell that you're special." Lily said with a subtle smile.

"M-Me special? How?"

"Hmm... well for starters, I believe it's that personality of yours, and just because everyone at your school thinks it weak and annoying, it's what will help you get far in life." Lily said.

"Hah- look, as much as that sounds nice and all... I don't think I should be a part of this world anymore."

"No can do, I'm not letting you end your life here that easily."

"But what can I do? Everyone here ignores me like I don't exist and I'm sure they wouldn't notice me being gone."

Lily wasn't expecting such a beat down attitude from this boy and thought of an excuse to make him change his mind.

"Y'know, you're not even thinking about how your mother would think if she found out about your suicide." Izuku froze and looked up at the Reaper.

"Huh?"

"Just because everyone at your school will ignore you, doesn't mean there isn't going to be one person who will forget you. Your mother is a prime example, and I can tell. I've been hearing her praying to the Gods at every shrine in Japan when you're at school. And she's prayed for you to make friends, be happy and safe. So do you really want to make your mother be filled with despair?" Lily asked.
