166: Black Mirror

Shortly after the man was cuffed and restrained from causing any harm, Anastasia and a few other officers came to the scene. That also meant that both Izumi and Katsuki were questioned and had to report everything that happened. 

Luckily no one was badly injured–besides Izumi having a swollen throat and Katsuki had a few scraps on his face–so thus the entire case was closed right away after finding the culprit. 

"Though I feel bad you had to go through such an event, I'm relieved that you weren't in any worse conditions." Anastasia stated. 

"Mn. I remembered recent news about it happening and was lucky that we caught him when we did." Izumi answered.

"Are you sure you don't want to go to the hospital to get your neck checked? It looks pretty swollen." 

"Ah- don't worry, I'll just put some ice on it. It'll be fine once we get back to work on Monday." Izumi assured her. 

"Right, well though you weren't supposed to work today, somehow you and Katsuki managed to take care of the situation pretty well. And as much as me or Chevy should be mad that you got involved, you did manage to capture and arrest the culprit without any problems. This probably means you and Katsuki will have to start working on weekends soon." Anastasia noted.

"Oh- so... we're not gonna get a punishment?" 

"Hmph no. You helped me out on this case so there's no punishment needed." Anastasia laughed. 

'Thank goodness, I was really worried we were gonna get in trouble for not following orders again.' Izumi thought. 

"Well then, since everything's been taken care of, we're going to take the culprit back to the Station and question him. I'm sure there will be plenty of things this man will answer, but it all depends on if he wants to comply." 

"Got it." 

"Anyway, you and Katsuki better get some rest. I have a feeling you two will start getting busy in the field so please go home and get some rest." 

"Mn. We'll make sure to do that." Anastasia nodded and left the greenette and left the mall along with the rest of the officers that were with the culprit.

Izumi let out a sigh of relief and was glad that all of that mess was over. 

'I'm glad I remembered this incident happening in my past life, otherwise things could've turned worse if I wasn't careful. Hm? Where's Kacchan?' she thought. She looked around and soon saw a spiky Ash blond sitting on a bench not too far from where she was standing. 

She could tell how exhausted he looked since he was slouching on the bench and rubbing his eyes. 

'I hope Kacchan's okay, he was close to getting stabbed through the chest if I didn't act sooner.' she thought and walked over to him.

'Hah- not how I was expecting this day to go. If that damn Shinigami didn't get involved, then maybe none of this would've happened. I should've known I was set up from the start, but I still thought Deku would be safe. I can't fall for stuff like that again, or Deku might get hurt worse than what happened today.' Katsuki thought as he was troubled by everything that happened. 

"You feel okay, Kacchan?" 

The blond jerked his head up to see the greenette standing in front of him with a subtle smile on her face. 

"Deku..." 

"I can tell you must be tired since you had to try and fight that guy from stabbing you. Sorry that all of this happened, I might've been a little careless." Izumi said.
