"Will that good mood of yours last forever?"

Izumi couldn't believe it, she was sitting next to the one Shinigami that was left to deal with, and she was completely afraid to face him. She was about to reach for her phone in her pocket, but realized her phone wasn't there.

"Looking for this?" She jerked her head to look at the Shinigami as he held her phone in his hand.

"If you want to stay alive–well, him too–then just listen to me for a second." Ikari said.

"What... Do you want?" she asked.

"It's really simple, I came here to just request if I could take your soul, but... not in a painful way." Ikari said.

"And what if I say no?"

"Mmmh... It'll lead to a painful way instead." he answered.

"Why do you want me and Kacchan's souls so badly?" she asked.

"In case you forget–because I'm sure you've been told about me–I was Akane's assistant, and I knew her for a very long time. She was smart, attractive and... knew what she was doing. But for some reason, when it came to your situation, she was... frazzled on what to do. Unfortunately, she never asked me what to do–since I wasn't there–but the one thing she did was the one thing I was grateful that she did. Give you a second chance, something a Shinigami is never allowed to do." Ikari said.

"She said she had no choice but to save me, so what makes you wanna take my soul?"

"Easy, the one time I wasn't there to help her, she ended up making a mistake. So I figure that now that I'm the one in her position, I should fix her mistake, by taking your soul, and your friend's soul too." Ikari explained.

"And what makes you think I'm just gonna let you take my soul so easily?" Izumi asked.

"Hmph. Good question. But in case you forgot, you've already had to deal with the other Shinigami, so you should know that I can do a lot worse than what any of them did. But I can assure you... there is something I can give you in return for taking your soul."

Izumi looked deep into his Crimson Red eyes and felt her body shaking in fear.

"What?"

"Hmph. If you give me your soul–and your friend's–I can easily return you two completely to normal in your next life. Though it is a risky thing for me to do, I have the ability to choose when someone can be reborn in the next life." Ikari said, she felt a shiver down her spine.

"Normal... in my next life?"

"Wouldn't that be wonderful? You'd be a boy again–like you were supposed to–and you'd live happily without dealing with spirits or anything like that! I'm making quite a big deal here." Ikari stated.

"And... What about Kacchan?"

"Well he'd be normal too, so there's-"

"But what about me and Kacchan together?" she interrupted.

"Hmmm... You want Fate to already destine you two together in a future life? That's quite a big claim, but... I think I can make it work." Ikari answered.

Though Izumi wanted to feel relieved, she couldn't believe this Shinigami so easily.

"How do I know you'll return what I want?" she asked.

"Tch- I'm a man of my word. Shinigami can't lie." he said.

'Though he can't lie... he can deceive and be two-faced.' Izumi thought.
