43: Ridiculous

"Ne-... Neito?"

Katsuki looked up at Izumi's face to see how shocked she was, does this mean she knew this person? 

"Hmph, seems you didn't forget about me, I'm surprised." 

"I-I'm the one who should be surprised. I-I thought you got cold feet and didn't continue working as a Police Officer?" Izumi asked. 

"Yeah right- more like everyone else did. And now it seems I have to take care of your job, this'll be easy." Neito said. 

'If this guy thinks he's taking Deku's job, he's gonna have to get through me first.' Katsuki thought. 

'It's not easy at all to work here, but how and why, of all people, did Neito get dispatched here?' Izumi thought.

"Oh? Izumi, do you know the new recruit?" Anastasia asked. 

"Ah- Mn. Neito and I went to U.A. and graduated the same year. We were in different classes, but we knew each other." Izumi said. 

"Hmph, you always knew our class was the best, but it seemed like your class kept trying to one-up us." Neito said, pulling his hair back. 

"Um no, I was in Class A while you were in Class B. My class was constantly trying not to get kicked out of school because our teacher kept saying that he would if we didn't meet his standards." Izumi muttered. 

'So this guy was in a bit lower class than Izumi? I knew Izumi graduated at the top of her class, but what about this guy? And why did Chevy choose him to be Izumi's partner?' Anastasia thought.

"Well since we know each other, I think it'll be easier with our partnership. So Captain, what are me and Neito to do?" Izumi asked. 

"Wel, I suppose the two, I mean three, of you can come with me. We're still trying to figure out the results of Mange's death, it seems we still haven't found any leads yet." Anastasia said. 

"Is the statement that it's a snake spirit that possessed Mange and then poisoned them?" Izumi asked. 

"Yes, the problem is that we don't know a lot of snake spirits that can use this kind of poison and have a human get killed by it." Anastasia said.

"Do the two of you recollect that what you're saying is all ridiculous?" Anastasia and Izumi slowly turned and looked at Neito after what he said. 

"Excuse me?" 

"Neito? Did you ask us if this is ridiculous?" Izumi asked. 

"Of course, simply because spirits don't exist." Anastasia and Izumi looked at each other, was he serious. 

"Um, Neito, I've met and fought plenty of spirits." 

"And I've dealt with a large amount of spirits myself." Both women said. 

"But how did you know they were spirits and not humans? Humans can have psychological problems in their brain most of the time." Neito said, pointing at his head.

'What's Neito talking about? Me and Anastasia would know it was actually a spirit because they possess powers like never before!' Izumi thought. 

"Neito, I think you're wrong, spirits are known to possess humans and can use Supernatural powers. All the members of the League are possessed by a spirit that gives them powers and-" 

"Let me ask you this Neito." Anastasia interrupted.

Neito looked at the Captain and smirked.
