5: Recognizable

Her thoughts disappeared when she looked to see a large dog in a cage, lying there asleep, but it's appearance was quite familiar. This large dog had spiky Ash Blond fur, and the second it opened its eyes, they were piercing Ruby Red. 

'No way... this one looks... exactly like... Kacchan...' Izumi thought, as she knelt down in front of the cage to watch the dog stand up from the ground. 

It slowly walked towards the greenette, until it started barking and growling at her, which caused her a bit of shock. 

"Ack! Wasn't expecting that!"

"Oh that one..." 

Izumi looked at the employee who didn't seem thrilled about the dog. 

"That one's been a huge problem for us. He bites people and is always making that angry face, he's considered one of our most dangerous dogs here." 

"Ah- really?" 

"Mn. He'll be euthanized some time this week since no one is willing to adopt him. He's been at this shelter for almost 2 years now, and we can't keep him here any longer because he shows large signs of aggression that can't be fixed." 

Izumi looked back at the dog, who was only glaring at her. 

'He shows large signs of aggression and will be euthanized if no one wants him? He reminds me... a lot of someone I used to know...' Izumi thought.

"Let's move on, there are other options to choose over that mess-" 

"I'll take him." 

The employee froze and slowly turned their head back at the greenette. 

"Hah?" 

"I said I'll take him." 

"Ah- didn't you just hear me? He has a lot of aggression, and it's not just to people, but to other animals!" 

"I heard you, but I'm sure he's not all that aggressive as he appears. Maybe it's just this atmosphere, and I wanna take him out of this place." Izumi said, looking back at the dog. 

"He just needs some fresh air, I'm sure I can help him as long as he can help me." Izumi said, placing her hand on the cage.

"Hah- you're seriously gonna regret taking that one, he's nothing but chaos. He's destructive too, so I'm sure wherever you live won't be the same by the end of the day." the employee said, having the greenette fill out some papers. 

As Izumi was finishing signing everything, another employee was pulling the dog out and Izumi quickly noticed the dog was wearing a muzzle over it's snout. 

"Ah- any reason for the muzzle?" Izumi asked.

"Oh that, because this dog is aggressive and is known for biting a lot of people, it would be best to have the dog wearing that muzzle if out in public." the employee said. 

'They believe this dog is so dangerous that he has to wear a muzzle? Isn't this animal abuse?' Izumi thought. 

The employee that was holding the leash on the dog slowly handed it to the greenette to take. 

"Just know that if you decide to bring him back, he will most likely be euthanized for his aggressive behavior." the employee said. 

'They really shouldn't say that to people, because then it'll prevent people from coming back to get a pet here. But at least I'm doing something different in a way.' Izumi thought, looking down at the dog that was connected by the leash in her hand.
