47: Explain

"Well, I think I've got some clearing up to do."

Izumi walked out of the bathroom rubbing her hair dry and turned to see Emra standing at the front door. 

"Emra, is someone at the- Aster!?!" 

"Oh, morning Izumi!" 

"Yes and- oh, the Grim Reapers here too..." Izumi muttered. 

"Are you fine with letting these two in?" Emra asked. 

"Oh yes, I'm fine with it." Izumi said. 

"Good, because the sooner I get this out of the way, I won't feel bothered about it anymore." Lily said, walking right into Izumi's apartment. 

"Bothered about what?" Izumi asked.

"It seems Lily came all this way to clear up why exactly she did this to you. I'm sure she would've told you when you stopped by her flower shop last time, but since I was a little mad about everything, she didn't get the chance." Emra said. 

'A little mad?' Izumi thought, remembering how scary Emra was that day. 

So they all sat down and Izumi wasn't sure what all was going to be said.

"Well first and foremost, I think I should apologize for doing this to you, since I didn't realize this would end up turning this hectic in the end. But I'm sure you're more concerned as to why I did this." Lily said. 

"Ah, mn." 

"Hah- Emra, do you remember back then when you asked me to do that task for you, which was to watch over Izuku?" Lily asked. 

"Yes, I remember, I figured it had to do with the task I gave you." Emra said. 

"To put it simply, your 'cousin' asked me to watch over you like I was a 'guardian angel' in some way. But the first day when I did start watching over you, happened to be the same day you attempted to commit suicide." Lily said.

"Oh- I see." 

"But there was one other thing that I didn't tell you correctly." 

"Hm? What?" 

"When I introduced myself to you that day, when I stopped time, I lied to you. I told you I was a Grim Reaper." Lily said. 

"But, you're a Grim Reaper now, right?" 

"Correct, but back then, when I met you that day, I was still a Shinigami." Lily said. Izumi was trying to understand, but it didn't help that Lily said Shinigami. 

"Um... I thought Grim Reapers and Shinigami were the same?" 

"They're not." Emra said.

"Huh?" 

"They're actually completely different from each other. Grim Reapers are the ones that are tasked to find Tormented souls and grant the Tormented one last wish before they can go to the Afterlife. Grim Reapers are the same ones that can extract spirits from human bodies that've been possessed. They are also known to live amongst humans and look like they're living a normal life, and they can have emotions and feelings like normal humans. Shinigamis on the other hand don't have any emotions and they don't live amongst humans. They reside in the Spirit Realm until a human has died. Shinigami's are the ones responsible for finding dying souls and deciding where that soul will go in their Afterlife, either Heaven or Hell. So in the time that you first met Lily, she was still a Shinigami and not a Grim Reaper yet." Emra said.
