169: Fighter

( Flashback to a few days prior! )

After checking to see that Katsuki was still asleep on the couch after the mall incident, Izumi went out and arrived at the Police Station to see Anastasia still working. 

"Captain." 

"Oh, Izumi. I didn't expect you to visit the Station this late in the day." Anastasia noted as she stood up from her desk. 

"Sorry if I came at a bad time-" 

"No, not at all. I was actually wanting to thank you and Katsuki for detaining that culprit at the mall. And that wasn't the only good thing I was going to tell you." Anastasia paused as she went into the drawer of her desk and pulled out what looked to be rounds for a handgun. 

"Is this... handgun ammo?" Izumi asked. 

"Yes, but it's not normal bullets." Anastasia noted. 

"It's not?" 

"No, it's a special kind of round that you should only use when the situation's in a dire state." Anastasia explained.

"Special rounds? But what would I use them for? What kind of situation would be dire?" 

"Well... one I could think of is if you or Katsuki are surrounded, then you will have no choice but to use them. You can't rely on your taser all the time because since our tasers are designed differently than other Police Station tasers. Our tasers take time to recharge for you to fire them again, so using them when you're surrounded isn't safe. And I highly advise you not to use regular bullets since it could hurt your title as being a Police Officer. Unfortunately, these are the only special rounds I have at the moment, so use them carefully and make sure not to miss your target. These aren't cheap rounds either, and it might take a while until we get more of these kinds of rounds." Anastasia said as Izumi took the special rounds from her hand.

"But... why're you giving these to me and Kacchan? We've barely done anything that proves we deserve these." Izumi noted. 

"That may be true, but I have a feeling you two will be swept up into a lot more problems after dealing with that culprit at the mall. So please do be careful when using these rounds. Chevy will get pissed at me for giving you these, but I trust that you and Katsuki can handle future events when it gets serious." Anastasia said. 

"Right, I'll be careful, Captain."

( Back to Present )

Izumi reloaded both handguns with the special rounds and glanced back up to see she was completely surrounded. 

'Though I don't know what these special rounds can do, I have a feeling they have something to do with dealing with spirits, like the ammo Aster had. Only one way to find out.' Izumi thought as she clenched the handguns tighter. 

"Do your worst, young lady, as you will not make it out of here alive. Men, capture her and tear her to ribbons." Fushin yelled as he pointed at the greenette. 

The men started running towards the greenette, and though her chest was beating fast, she wasn't afraid. She took a deep breath and pulled the trigger wherever she was pointing and watched as the first man she shot had immediately dropped to the floor and a spirit evaporated out of their body. 

'I knew it, they're possessed by spirits, which means these rounds were designed to weaken and extract each spirit out of human bodies. Let's hope I have enough rounds to finish this.' she thought.

Anastasia had her backup following behind her as she used the GPS to locate where Izumi was said to be.
