"I had a dog at one time, and they were really sweet. They actually kind of reminded me of you." Katsuki froze.
"What?"
Izumi looked up at him and he seemed surprised.
"What?"
"You... had a dog?"
"Mn. Like I said, they kind of reminded me of you. They were quiet when they didn't want to be bothered and would get excited when they wanted to do something sometimes. Hmph, I miss that bond I had with that dog sometimes." Izumi said with a smile.
Katsuki sat there in awe, he wasn't sure if he was hearing things right, but he knew he wasn't wrong. She clearly stated that she had a dog that reminded her of him; plain and simple.
"What... What happened to them?"
"Mmmh... I couldn't keep them forever, and as much as I didn't want that dog to leave my side, it had to. But... I will never forget them." Izumi said, petting the dog as it rested its head on her lap.
'Is she... talking about me?' Katsuki thought as he tried to think through her words.
As much at the moment was bittersweet, it was technically ruined when the dog perked it's head off Izumi's lap and started walking away from the bench.
"I guess all things must leave every once in a while." Izumi stated as she watched the dog leave her sight.
'I'm not planning on leaving your sight again, Deku. That's something I'll make sure won't happen again.' Katsuki thought.
"So what did you get us for lunch?" she asked, turning her attention back to him.
"Ah- I uh-"
"You got Katsudon?!? That's my favorite! Thank you!" Izumi said happily.
"Ah- sure." he mumbled.
'Though this first day of working with the Police is a lot different than what it was in the past, I can't say I don't hate this change. Kacchan's safe and sound and is working as my partner, this isn't even something I asked for! But it looks like my Fate really is helping me out.' Izumi thought as she started to eat her lunch.
'She seems happy now, and her throat's not swelling as much as before. Though I'm glad time turned back for me to fix my mistake–at the same time– I wish the connection me and Deku had still existed in this life. This isn't the same as before and I wish it was... because I feel like I have to hold myself back. This sucks.' Katsuki thought as he watched the greenette eat next to him.
After the two of them finished their lunch, neither of them were sure what to do; go home or stay together and try to talk more? Katsuki tried to think of what they could do just so he wouldn't feel this emptiness inside of him if the greenette left, and finally the idea struck him.
"Let's go somewhere." he protested.
"Hm? Go where, and why?"
"What? D'you despise me or somethin?"
"What? No! I just- umm- where are we going?" she asked nervously.
"This way." he said as he got up from the bench and took the lead.
'Where would he be taking me when we just finished lunch? Is this some kind of trick?' Izumi thought as she slowly stood up to follow the blond.
