102: Promises

"I see... so you were about to split from what it looks like. Guess I should take care of this quickly before you wake up."

Briar twirled the Death Scythe and had the very tip of the blade rest on top of Twice/Jin's chest and his chest glowed right after. Slowly the soul of the spirit was getting pulled out of his chest and before Briar grabbed the soul and soon started to see the sight of a man's figure in the soul. 

"Hello Twice." she said. 

"Ahh~ our wonderful Briar, it feels like we just saw you." 

"You did, but now I must put you to rest. You and Jin to rest." Briar said. 

"I see~ this is really strange, I've never seen myself without him there." Twice said, peeking his eyes over to see Jin lying unconscious.

"I've split you from Jin completely, so I'll make sure you're sent back to the Spirit Realm. The only unfortunate thing is that you will be watched over by the higher ups in the Spirit Realm, as I can't keep watching over you." Briar said. 

"Well darn, I was hoping we could get a chance to chat more without him in the way." 

"I know, but it's unfortunate that this will be his last day living as well." 

"Hm? He's dying?" 

"Yes, because his mentality collapsed a long time ago, he can no longer live and think there is peace. I'm sorry, but you will be one of the causes of his death." Briar said.

"Ahh~ I didn't think it would be so soon, but at least I got to see you again before leaving his body. I never would've thought you to be such a powerful being, Briar~" 

"Hmph, yes, I am a Grim Reaper, but you and Jin will always be very dear friends to me. I will never forget you, understand, Twice?" 

"Ahh~ yes, how could I forget how kind you've been to the both of us, it made me feel happy to know you are my friend." Twice said. 

"Yes, but now I must bid farewell to Jin before it is too late." 

"I understand."

Briar knelt down and pulled the town ski mask off of Jin's face and she rested her hand on his chest. 

'He's still alive, but not for long. Please just wake up one last time, let me say goodbye before I regret this decision.' she thought. 

She lifted her hand and rested it on top of the scar on Jin's forehead and she watched as he slowly woke up. He squinted his eyes over and could see the Reaper standing next to him. 

"Dr.... Barsk?" 

"Yes, it's me, Jin." 

"What happened to me? I can't remember a thing." he said. 

"You don't need to remember what happened, as I made sure Twice was gone for good." Briar said.

"He's... gone?" 

"That's right, and only you remain." 

Just hearing those words, Jin had tears forming in his eyes. 

"I didn't..." 

"Hm?" 

"I didn't get to say goodbye to him." he cried. 

Briar was surprised, this was the first time she'd seen Jin cry before, and all she could do was smile. 

"Don't worry, he will always be a part of you, Jin." she said with a soft smile.
