90: Fever

Katsuki was lying in bed and looked like he was in a lot of pain, heavy breathing, his cheeks were red and sweat was streaming down his face. The greenette placed a cold, wet rag over his forehead and it seemed to have helped in a little way. 

"How did this happen? I didn't think he'd been overworking his body that much." Izumi said. 

"Hah- you're lucky I came in time to help, his situation would've been if you tried to take him to the hospital. The hospital is too far from here to even attempt to go." the man said. Izumi looked back up at the man and squinted her eyes at him. 

"What?" 

"How did you know to come here the moment Kacchan collapsed? Are you a spy?"

"No no, of course not, I would never consider myself a spy. It seems you don't recognize me in this form." the man said. 

"'This form'? What does that mean?" 

The man sighed and started glowing Midnight Blue and his shape and size shifted and once the glowing stopped, he appeared as a Black Wolf. 

"A Black Wolf? Wait-" 

Izumi tried to think of where she'd seen this wolf before and remembered seeing it on Christmas day when her and Katsuki found Masaru was bitten. 

"That wolf is just a spirit, actually... like Saeko, he was my most dearest friend. Once he died, I kept his spirit with me, so I turned him into a tattoo and so he's always with me. We were just scoping the area, I wasn't expecting to run into you like this, but at least everything's been taken care of."

"You- You're that wolf from that day!" Izumi yelled as she pointed at the large dog. 

The dog glowed and shifted back into a human and the man stood in front of her. 

"Yes, that was me. My name is Takashi Gunner, I'm a very close and dear friend to your 'cousin'." he said. 

"That means... were you Emra's... loved one?" 

"Hmph, yes, I'm her husband in a way." Takashi said, as he lifted his left hand to reveal what looked to be a Red thread wrapped around his ring finger. 

"A Red thread?" 

"Me and Emra are connected, so yes, I am her loved one. But before I discuss anything else, let's take this conversation to the living room and give Katsuki some peace." Takashi said.

Izumi and Takashi sat down on the couch, far away from each other, and Izumi was still confused. 

"So... why did you come here?" 

"Emra asked me to do a little mission for her, that mission was to protect you and Katsuki until the 3rd of January. It seems I'll have to do more than protect since Katsuki has a virus." Takashi said. 

"So, is Kacchan's virus contagious?" 

"From what it looks like, the virus was caused by some kind of bacteria that was in the same venom, or poison, that he was bitten by Yui. So as long as you keep your distance from him for the time being, and make sure to keep yourself clean, you shouldn't catch it." Takashi said. 

'Why didn't you tell me this before me and Kacchan had a make-out session!?!?' Izumi thought.

"But wait- you were asked to come here and protect me and Kacchan until the 3rd, but why?" 

"It seems that now that half the League has been taken down, and since Yui was assisting them for a bit, they'll try to target you. Though we're not sure if the remaining members of the League know about your power, it would still be wise to stay inside for the time being." Takashi said.
