148: So Different

"You two changed faster into your new uniforms than I thought. Anyway, you two are to meet your new Chief." Anastasia said as both Izumi and Katsuki were standing next to each other. 

'I wonder how things were when Deku got this job in the past.' Katsuki thought, glimpsing down at the greenette. 

'This is completely nothing like the past, I didn't meet the Chief until I was working here for a month for whatever reason. Why has so much changed from what I thought was supposed to happen already? This is only the first day, could things change this drastically if time travel really existed?' Izumi thought.

"So you two are the new recruits?" 

Izumi and Katsuki looked up to see a man with Golden hair and Purple–almost Black– eyes. 

"You two, this is Chevy Niurus, he is the Chief of this Station." Anastasia said. 

Both the greenette and blond saluted right away at the man. 

"At ease. Since I'm the one that personally chose to recruit you two, that means I have high expectations and that you two will not disappoint me." Chevy said. 

"Yes sir, we won't disappoint you." Izumi said. "Yeah..."

"Right. Ana, take these two out with you in the field today. Ah- and I got notice that there's something needing your assistance at the Morton Arboretum, so take these new recruits with you there in case you need backup." Chevy said. 

'The Morton Arboretum? Why does that name sound so familiar?' Izumi thought. 

"Got it, and what about you, Chev?" 

"I need to go to Kanagawa to take care of something, nothing serious." Chevy said and turned back to face the blond and the greenette. 

"Follow your Captain, I don't want our Station to be embarrassed if you two cause trouble." Chevy said with an intense glare. 

"Yes sir." 

"Got it." Chevy snarled and walked away from the right after. "

Alright you two, follow me." Anastasia said and took the lead.

As Anastasia took the lead, Katsuki followed behind and noticed the greenette was walking behind him and not beside him. 

'Does Deku... is she afraid of me? But she couldn't be if she said she was happy to see me earlier.' he thought. 

He glanced up to see the back of the Captain who wasn't paying attention to what was behind her, so Katsuki took a chance. He stopped in his tracks and because Izumi wasn't paying attention, she ran into his back. 

"Oof- Ah- I'm sorry-" 

"Oi-" 

"Hm?" 

Katsuki turned his head to where only one of his could see her behind him. 

"Don't walk behind me if you can't see what's ahead of you." he stated. 

"Oh- right. Then should I walk in front of-" 

"Walk beside me." he interrupted, she froze. 

"Eh?"

He turned his body completely around, grabbed her by her shoulders and pulled her to move her feet and stopped her to stand right next to him. 

"We're partners now, who knows what'll happen if you get lost and I don't know about it." he said in a calm but serious tone. 

"Oh... I see... I'll keep that in mind." she mumbled.
