84: Truth

Izumi's eyes snapped wide open and felt her body jolt to sit up, and as she tried to catch her breath after what she saw in a dream, she heard; 

"Bad dream?" 

She lifted her head to see Emra sitting in the chair next to her hospital bed. 

"Ah- E-Emra..." 

"I figured you'd react that way if you had a bad dream, so do you care to tell me about it?" Emra asked. 

"I- mn. I saw... a room of people, and all of them were talking about the same thing, and to me." "What were they talking about?"

"One... for All... That's what they said my power is called." Izumi said, looking down at her hand. 

"I don't really know if that dream was real or not." 

"It was, because I can only assume a man named Yagi Toshinori told you that once you wake up, you'd see me and ask me about this, correct?" 

"Ah- y-yes."

Emra sighed and turned her head to look out the window. 

"This power you wield is called One for All for a reason. It's a Spiritual Power that's been passed down as much as it can. In the past, this power was only passed down from one spirit to the next, but that all changed after Yagi Toshinori took that power, because he was a human." Emra said. 

"Right, I remember hearing that, but is there something wrong with that?" 

"Yes, it's considered forbidden for spirits to give their Spiritual Powers to a human, and the reason is justifiable. We've had too many incidents in the past where a human ends up yearning for more power from other spirits just to become stronger. When a spirit passes their powers to someone, it's meant as just a protection device, it's a simple tool. But when put in the wrong set of hands, things start to unravel." Emra said.

"Why're you telling me this?" 

"All for good reason, because One for All was the first instance where a spirit passed their power to another spirit. And while there is One for All, there is also his brother; All for One. One for All is meant to be multiple powers and abilities passed from one spirit to the next. While All for One is one user and collects as many Spiritual Powers and abilities as much as they want. The original owner and user of One for All was a very weak and frail spirit, but his brother, All for One, was the opposite and trapped One for All. Let's just say there was a long and ongoing war between these two brothers for a long time. I was at the beginning of starting to get used to being an immortal when I found out about the little feud which turned into a war, and I've been involved in their war from the beginning." Emra said.

"So... is this war still ongoing?" 

"In a way, yes, but things have changed from now to what they were before. Yagi Toshinori, for one, was the main reason the war died down, which is why you don't hear any spirits talking about it." Emra said. 

"And, when did the war die down?" 

"Mmmh, if I'm correct, the war died down around the same time you were born." 

"2-20 years ago?!?!" 

"Yes, that's correct, and in the process, Toshinori had defeated All for One, and though it was a joyous feat, Toshinori had taken a lot of damage from this battle." Emra said. 

"Was he okay?"

"He was fine for a while, but I knew that he wanted to find some peace and rest somewhere to end his days quietly without anyone knowing. So I suggested for him to go to the Spirit Realm, I assured him that he would find the peace he needed there to spend the rest of his dying days there perfectly fine. And he did, he went to the Spirit Realm and stayed there until he was no more, he died in his sleep." Emra said.
