I slowly woke up. I thought about what I was gonna have to do today and groaned. I have to go to the laundromat. I freaking hate that place. My stupid washer broke and now I have to go there about once a week. I crawled out of bed and threw some clothes on. I don't really wanna go and I don't know how long I'll be there so I just put comfortable clothes on. I didn't even put my contacts in. There shouldn't be many people there since it's a week day. I would usually be at work but I got fired the other day. I loaded my clothes into my car and made my way to the laundromat. I was right barley anyone was there I walked to the washers and looked over to see a very attractive man at the other end. Of course this is the day I chose to look like crap. I was loading my washer and I just needed to fit one more shirt in there. I was pushing all the clothes and trying to fit it in there. I refuse to pay for another load because of one shirt! Ugh. The struggle is real. I looked over and saw the man laughing at me.

"You think this is funny." I rose an eyebrow. "I'd like to see you get it in." I challenged. He smiled and walked over. He pushed the clothes in and made room for my shirt with ease. My mouth hung open and I sorta stared at him. "That's not cool! I worked on that for like ten minutes!"

"All you had to do was ask." He laughed.

"How long did you watch me struggle?" I asked.

"About five minutes." He laughed. "I'm Darry by the way." He stuck his hand out and I shook it.

"I'm (Y/n)." I smiled. We started talking as we were waiting for the washer to get done. "So why aren't you at work?" I asked.

"It's my day off."

"It's your day off and you come to the laundromat!" I exclaimed.

"Yeah." He smiled. "It's just my favorite place to be." He said with a joking tone. "Why aren't you at work?"

"I was fired a few days ago." I rolled my eyes.

"Why?" He asked.

"Turns out that my new boss was my ex. So he fired me." I shrugged.

"I think my boss is hiring." He said as we walked over to his washer since it stopped. "I think it's for a secretary."

"Really?" I asked hopeful.

"Yeah. I'll talk to him and see if I can get you a job interview." He smiled.

"I freaking love you!" I yelled. He laughed and rolled his eyes. I really like Darry. He's such a sweet guy. About five minutes later my washer was done and I transferred my clothes to the dryer. Darry and I sat down at one of the tables and started talking some more as we waited for our clothes to dry. We had started talking about our families.

"One time my kid brothers came to do laundry when I was at work. They ended up shrinking a load of clothes and turning a loa of whites pink. So my youngest brother as a lot of clothes and we all have lots of pink." I laughed imagining Darry's reaction when he saw the clothes.

"I've done that before. I am the younger sibling." I smiled.

"You grow up here?" He asked.

"No. I grew up in Boston and moved here with my boyfriend when I was eighteen. Then we broke up and he moved away but I decided to stay. I really like it here." I replied smiling.

"Well I'm glad you decide to stay." He smiled. As he said that three guys walked in. Must of just got done at school. We've been here for a couple of hours. There was a small one wearing a cutoff shirt, one with dark hair and skin, and one with a Mickey shirt on.

"Hey Dar. Ya make a new friend?" The one with the Mickey shirt laughed.

"Ignore him." Darry rolled his eyes. "Guys this is (Y/n)." He said introducing me. "(Y/n) this is Johnny, Two-Bit, and my kid brother Ponyboy."

"Hey guys." I smiled. They helped us fold our clothes so we got that done rather quickly. We were leaving when I handed Darry a paper. "So you can call me about that interview."

"It's not the only thing I'll call about." He winked.

"Good." I winked back.
