Ponyboy and I are best friends. I don't think anything could tear us apart. The problem is I think I'm starting to like him and when a girl likes her best friend it almost never ends well. Pony is also sitting here telling me about this girl he likes which isn't helping. At first I was hoping maybe he was talking about me but turns out he wasn't.
"We're going on a date later." Pony said as he was doing his homework.
"Where you going?" I asked dribbling my basketball.
"The movies." I should've known. "Shouldn't you be doin' homework?"
"Shouldn't you mind your own business?" It was rude but all this talk about that girl has put me in a bad mood. Pony rolled his eyes.
"Well I should go get ready."
"Where your blue shirt." He looked at me. "It brings your eyes out." I smiled.
"Thanks (Y/n). I don't know what I'd do with out you."
"Neither do I. You'd be a mess!" I winked. "Hey I'll see ya later. I'm gonna go shoot some hoops." Pony never got how I loved basketball. Just like how I never got how he loved track.
"Wait."
"Yeah?" I said kind of hopeful.
"How do I tell if she really likes me?" And there goes my hope.
"Well that's easy." I laughed. "When's girls in love you can see it in her smile and when a boys in love." Pony looked at me waiting for me to continue. "You can see it in his eyes."
"Thanks again." He smiled and went to get ready. The thing that killed me was that he was in love with that girl. You could see it in his eyes when he talked about her. Oh well. I sighed as I walked out of the house.
"Where you going?" I heard Two-Bit say.
"I'm gonna go to the park and shoot some hoops. Wanna come?"
"I don't (Y/n). That would involve exercising."
"Come on! We can play some one on one."
"Fine." He groaned and gave me a playful smile. I smiled in return and we walked to he park.
**Ponys POV**
When I got back from the date I was so happy. I couldn't wait to tell (Y/n) and Soda. I think she's the one honestly. When I walked into my house I still couldn't stop smiling.
"I can see the date went well." Soda smiled.
"Yeah. Where's (Y/n) at?" Usually she's back by now. Unless someone went with her.
"Oh her and Two-Bit are playing one on one. I don't know why. He should know she's gonna win." He laughed. It's true. She's the best basketball players at school. Eventually we heard them coming into the house.
"Oh I just let you win." You can guess who's saying that.
"Whatever lets you sleep at night honey." She laughed.
"I told you not to call me that." He rolled his eyes as he walked in. She laughed again and looked at me.
"Ey horseman. How'd your date go?" She said as she squeezed into the armchair with Darry.
"Why don't you sit with Two on the couch." Darry complained.
"Because. I want to sit with you. Because I love you." Darry laughed and rolled his eyes. Then I told her about my date.
**Your POV**
Pony told me all about his date. It sounded like it went really good. He really likes this girl and I know she likes him. She told me once.
"(Y/n) you gonna call that guy?" Two asked referring to the guy I talked to at the park.
"I might." I answered. I mean I guess I should. I guess you don't always get a happy ending.
