Hello, I've been listening to a song for too long again. This time it's "Good Luck, Babe!" By Chapelle Roan.
So another story has emerged from it.😅

Love. It was something that was now alien to Charlotte. She should actually be happy. She had two beautiful children, a husband who loved her more than anything, a home of her own and a job that she really enjoyed. But she still felt empty. Her whole life was just a facade.

Her dreams were haunted by the same person every night. The person who she had to let go, over ten years ago, to live this life.

She remembered well when they first met. At that time, her now husband was still her boyfriend.

One evening, she decided to go out with friends to a local bar. And there she met her.

Mia. The bartender. She had been flirting with her all evening. Charlotte was amazed when she had butterflies in her stomach for the first time. A feeling she had never felt before.

She thought she loved her boyfriend. But that evening she realised that it was friendly love that she felt for him.

But this woman. With her long red hair and piercing green eyes, she felt something completely different. She felt like a moth, drawn to the light. And so she came back. Weekend after weekend. Just to catch a glimpse of her.

The other woman noticed this too. And so the dance began. Slight advances, flirting, carelessly touching the other's hand.

Finally, one night when Charlotte wanted to go home again, the other woman followed her. And pulled her into a side street. There, undisturbed, it happened.

They kissed. Charlotte never wanted to be a cheater. But their affair began that evening.

At first it didn't seem to be anything serious for Mia. An occupation, a bit of fun. But the more time passed, the more she fell in love with her.

A woman in a relationship with a man. A woman who wasn't happy with it. But had already planned her entire life with this man. And she didn't want to give that up so easily.

Mia did her best to show her that she deserved more, that she deserved better. But all her efforts were in vain.

One night Charlotte asked to meet up, at this point their affair had been going on for a year.

They met in a car park. There, Charlotte tearfully confessed that her boyfriend had proposed to her. And she had said yes.

Mia tried to convince her that it wasn't the right thing to do. But Charlotte didn't want to hear it.

She ended it that night. And never came back to Mia's bar.

And now it was already ten years ago. And Charlotte still hadn't forgotten her. Every day she asked herself what would have happened if she had said no to her husband. What her life would be like now.

It was another sleepless night. Charlotte sat up in bed with her hands over her face. She looked at her wedding ring. No more than his wife. That's what she was.

Just a wife.

In her mind's eye, she saw Mia. It hurt. She didn't know what made her go to the bar that night.

Now Charlotte was standing there on the dark street in front of the bar. The lights were still on. But she knew it would be closing soon.

And then, after what felt like an eternity, Mia stepped out of the door. She looked exactly as Charlotte remembered her.

"Mia?"

The redhead turned round.

"Charlotte..."

But her expression was cold. Far from the smile Charlotte loved so much.

"What do you want here?", she asked.

Charlotte played nervously with her hands. "You were right... This life I'm leading isn't right for me... I miss you..."

But Mia wasn't impressed. She continued to look at her coldly. Charlotte approached her carefully. "I don't know what to do... I need you..." Charlotte continued.

She tried to kiss her. But Mia lifted her head so that Charlotte couldn't reach her lips.

"I told you so.", Mia said coldly.

Charlotte didn't want to hear it.

Mia lit a cigarette and blew the smoke in Charlotte's face.

Poison. That was the only love between them now.

"Good luck, babe.", with these words, Mia pushed past her and left her standing there.

There was nothing left for Charlotte. Just a cold bed to which she now returned.
