Autumn looked at herself in the mirror, the black dress was far too tight for her taste. She still hadn't spoken to Winter. How could she? What could she tell him?

She would meet her future husband today. Edward Van Gould.

When she pulled up outside the restaurant in her car, she saw her father and two men.

The meal went just as she had imagined. Terrible.

Edward was a smarmy, arrogant man. He undressed her with his eyes. Autumn's skin crawled.

Somehow she managed to sneak away after some time.

She stood outside the restaurant to get some fresh air and collect her thoughts.

This was going to be her future life.

She exhaled the smoke and was about to take another puff when the restaurant door opened and Edward stepped out.

The look in his eyes told her everything she needed to know. He plucked the cigarette out of her mouth.

"Women are not supposed to smoke! Now come back in." He put his hand on her lower back and Autumn saw red. Her fist connected with his face.

And before all hell could break loose, she disappeared. She only wanted to see Winter.

No matter what consequences awaited them.

She tried to call Winter on the way to him. But he didn't answer.

He was probably already asleep.

After parking her car in front of his house, she took off her high heels.

With them in her hand and her bag, she walked along the driveway towards his house.

Autumn put her bag down to ring the bell when she was grabbed from behind.

She was always a strong woman and knew how to defend herself. But she didn't stand a chance against these three men and before she knew it. She was tied up and thrown into the boot of her own car.

Before the lid was slammed shut, one of the men spoke.

"You've lost your usefulness to the boss!"

She didn't know how long she lay there in the dark, but suddenly the car came to a halt. She heard the driver and passenger doors open. Autumn waited for the boot to open again. But it didn't.

The car moved and crashed into something.

Autumn had to collect herself when she noticed water rising around her.

Winter opened the front door, he was late. When he ran out of the door without really looking his way, he tripped over something and fell to the floor.

"Damn!"

But when he looked at what he had just tripped over, hundreds of questions began to fill his head.

Why was there a handbag in front of his door and why were there a pair of high heels in his driveway?

Marjorie kept looking at the clock. Strange, it was unusual for Autumn to be late.

Suddenly Winter stormed into her office.

" Is Autumn here?"

" Erm, good morning. No, she seems to be late. Why?"

It bubbled out of him, he told her that they were a couple and had been for months. But for a few days Autumn had been acting strange and distant and this morning he found her things on his doorstep.

Marjorie tried to explain things logically, but she eventually ran out of explanations.

But before they could talk any more about the subject, a man entered the office.

"Hello," he said.

"Excuse me, but we're having an important conversation," said Marjorie.

The man raised his eyebrow. " Is that  a way to talk to the new manager of the Sister Nursery?"

Mia walked into the Nursery, how ridiculous. Not only did she have to marry Reece now. No, she was also supposed to manage the Sister Nursery together with him. In her thoughts she didn't look at her path and ran into a person.

"Oh, sorry!" Mia shouted and out of reflex she held the other person tightly.

The redhead looked into two surprised blue eyes.

"It's ok. Nothing happened," said the woman with brown hair, slightly ashamed.

Mia quickly removed her hand from her waist.

" Um hello... I'm the new deputy manager of the Sister Nursery... Mia."

" Oh hi. Charlotte. Nice to meet you!" she smiled at her.

Mia lost herself in the smile.

"I'd love to chat but I have to get going," said Charlotte and walked on quickly.

Reece looked back and forth between the two of them in disbelief. He had just introduced himself and said who he was and already he was being bombarded with questions.

"Slow down now. Autumn has disappeared?"

"I don't know if she's disappeared, but something's happened," said Winter.

Reece had a bad suspicion. He immediately turned round and stormed out of the office, almost knocking Mia over.

There was only one person responsible for something like this. Their father.
