Some of you wanted fluff, here it is😁
____________________________________A long week at work came to an end, and Charlotte was finally home. Her girls were staying with her ex-husband for the next few days.
She used to hate the empty house, but now she was enjoying the peace and quiet. After she had put on some comfortable clothes. She sat down on the couch with a noodle box.
Sometimes, Charlotte felt like she did when she was in her early twenties. Which wasn't a bad thing.
She flicked through the programmes, but there wasn't really anything on the TV. Occasionally, she looked at her phone. Mia was still in Thailand and wouldn't be back until next week.
They were actually going to have a facetime today. But Mia hadn't yet responded to the last message from Charlotte. She forked up the last of the noodles with her chopsticks.
Charlotte yawned. She was already tired. She switched off the TV, went into the kitchen, and threw her noodle box in the bin.
As she stood there in the kitchen, she picked up her phone.
'Hey my love, I hope you had a nice day. I'm going to bed now. Love you.'
The moment she sent the message, she heard someone unlocking her front door. Charlotte whirled around towards the hallway, it could only be one person. She quickly put her phone away.
There in the corridor, she stood. Mia. She dropped her bag on the floor. The redhead looked like she hadn't slept for days. She was only wearing a black hoodie and leggings. Her hair was tied back in a loose plait. Strands of hair fell into her face.
" Mia? What are you doing back so early?" Charlotte asked happily.
Mia looked up the moment their eyes met. Tears welled up in Mia's.
Charlotte quickly ran to her and cupped her face. " My love?"
" Hey baby... I just missed you so much." More tears ran down her face.
" Oh, Mia..." Charlotte hugged her tightly.
" I can't do this anymore... to be away from you for so long..." Mia mumbled into Charlotte's neck.
The brunette took Mia's hand and led her into the living room. In front of the sofa, she wrapped her arms around Mia's waist and fell onto the sofa with her.
Mia buried her face in Charlotte's chest and wrapped her arms around her.
"How was your trip?" asked Charlotte.
" Fine... but you weren't there... I'm done with travelling... I've seen enough. I want to stay with you..." Mia lifted her head.
Charlotte smiled gently at her and gave her a kiss. "So the untameable Amelia Roberts is finally settling down and wants to live a boring life?"
Mia couldn't help but laugh. " Yes, I'm getting boring now, but as long as I can be boring with you, I don't want anything else."
At the same time, a few streets away. Autumn was packing up her things. She'd been with Sorscha and Clodagh since this afternoon. Just to spend some time with then and Quinn, and to relieve some of Sorscha's stress.
Speaking of Sorscha, she had just come into the kitchen. After putting Quinn to bed. Clodagh had fallen asleep on the couch, buried under two blankets.
"Thank you for coming, Autumn."
"Always happy to." Autumn spoke, raising her eyes to see Sorscha, watching the sleeping Clodagh from the kitchen.
Sorscha had a worried look on her face and was playing nervously with her hands.
"Sorscha."
" Huh?" Sorscha looked at her in surprise, as if Autumn had just snapped her out of her thoughts.
" Stop worrying so much. Clodagh is fine, and so is Quinn."
Sorscha sighed loudly and dropped down onto a bar stool. " I know... It's just... what if something is wrong."
Autumn put her bag down again and stepped in front of Sorscha. "Clodagh is just tired, she's still adjusting to life with a child. Just like you, and Quinn couldn't be better."
The Irish looked up. "But what if I do something that could hurt them? What if I'm not cut out to be a parent? What if I don't support Clodagh enough? Oh god..." she put her hands over her face.
Autumn took Sorscha's hands and held them, squeezing them lightly. "Sorscha, you are a wonderful mum and an incredible wife to Clodagh. You are doing everything right."
Sorscha took a deep breath and smiled slightly at Autumn. " Thank you, Autumn... for everything... I know you don't like the emotional stuff, but I couldn't be more grateful to you." she released Autumn's hands.
"I have to thank you too. For letting me be here and helping you. It has helped me a lot to find peace with my loss."
Sorscha stood up from the stool, she just wanted to give Autumn a hug but didn't dare. Autumn seemed to notice this, too. "You want to hug me, don't you?" she asked with a raised eyebrow. Sorscha nodded hastily.
Autumn rolled her eyes." OK." She spread her arms. When Sorscha hugged her tightly, Autumn couldn't help but smile.
