I'm sorry, but I'm currently drowning in work, and don't really have time for everything I'm writing at the moment. I hope it will get better soon.😅😅

Clodagh pulled open the door to the changing room. She immediately caught sight of Sorscha, who was sitting on the bench between the lockers and was in the process of taking off her bulletproof vest.

"Darling!"she immediately ran to her. She knelt down to her wife.

"Hey babe, don't worry, everything's fine," Sorscha spoke calmly and smiled slightly.

But Clodagh shook her head and put her hands on Sorscha's cheeks.

Marjorie stared angrily back and forth between Janice and Coates." Speak up, what kind of game is this!"

Janice wanted to say something to her client, but the man waved her off. "... I was involved in drug deals... Miller got me the stuff... But at some point, I couldn't pay him anymore... The Sea Snakes have my son... I wanted Miller to tell me where he was... we had a fight... I didn't want to kill him..."

As Marjorie stormed out of her offices, she came straight to Mia. "We have a hostage, Simon Coates. Do you have any idea where the Sea Snakes could have hidden him?"

The redhead thought for a moment. " If so, then near the harbour. But I can't say for sure."

Winter opened his laptop as soon as he heard that. At the same moment, Autumn and Sarah stormed into the building.

Autumn ran straight to Winter. "Is everything all right?"

" Yes, I'm fine..."

" We have to act fast. Otherwise, we'll have another victim," said Charlotte sternly. Reece nodded in agreement.

Winter turned the laptop to the other investigators. "There's an abandoned warehouse right by the harbour."

"That sounds good. So everyone spread out!"

Sorscha was the last to leave the building. Even though she was still shocked from the incident of less than an hour ago, she couldn't abandon her colleagues. Clodagh had tried to stop her, but no chance, the Irish was too stubborn.

Janice was getting a coffee from the vending machine when Clodagh stepped up beside her. "If anything happens to my wife, you will pay for it!"

Janice gave her a critical look. " I didn't force her to go on the mission."

" No! But you covered up for a criminal! I'll never understand how you can reconcile that with your conscience!"

Marjorie pressed her back against the wall of the warehouse. Behind her were Reece and Charlotte. On the other side of the entrance were Mia, Winter, and Sorscha.

Autumn and Sarah went around the warehouse to enter through the back entrance.

Autumn quietly opened the door and entered the warehouse, followed by Sarah. It was dark. Inside were countless large wooden boxes. The two investigators slowly made their way through.

Sarah tapped Autumn on the shoulder. She pointed to a staircase that led to an office overlooking the warehouse.

Marjorie and Reece had hidden behind two boxes. Sorscha and Winter were a little further but also behind boxes. Mia and Charlotte had advanced further and disappeared from the sergeant's view.

Marjorie could already see two men walking through the corridors. Both with visibly snake tattoos.

Sarah slowly opened the office door. There, tied to a chair, was a young man. That had to be Simon Coates. But there was also a man in the room, sitting on a chair, who seemed to be guarding the man.

When the first shot rang out, Autumn spun round. Something had happened below them, but she couldn't see exactly what. Then everything happened very quickly. Sarah ripped open the office door, and with one shot, the man in the room was down. The two investigators quickly started freeing Simon.

Marjorie took cover again, the bullet hitting the box. Reece was beside her on the radio, calling for backup.

Charlotte had pulled Mia behind a box, the redhead squirming painfully. A bullet had hit her in the shoulder. Charlotte pressed her hand to the wound and hoped that reinforcements would arrive quickly.

"Weapon down!" A voice rang out as a man stepped behind the box. Charlotte raised her hand and placed her weapon on the ground.

The man came closer, pointing his gun at the two women. When he suddenly stopped and fell to the ground. Behind him was Autumn. She had knocked him unconscious with the handle of her gun.

The siren sounded from outside as reinforcements finally arrived. Winter looked from behind a box and saw the rest of the drug dealers running out of the warehouse.

Charlotte climbed into the ambulance. Mia was being treated by the paramedics, but she was still responsive.

The brunette took her hand. "I'm here."

"I know, sweetheart."

Marjorie put her gun away. She had just searched the warehouse again with the rest of her team. She walked over to the rest of the investigators. " That was nerve-wracking. "

Reece nodded. " You could say that."

" Fortunately, the matter has been cleared up for now," said Winter.

"Marjorie, I can do office duty for the next few weeks, I'm afraid Clodagh will kill me otherwise," Sorscha said sheepishly.

"No problem."

Autumn looked at Sarah. "I think that means we're partners now."

" Yes, I think that's what it means now. "
