Hey, I want to slowly built up the Story. Hope you're like it:)

"Mum?" Autumn looked up. Her mum was sitting at the dining table. Her face was blurred, but she seemed to be crying.

"Autumn... my darling. Why are you awake?" she asked. Her voice was just an echo.

Autumn approached her and put her hand on her lap. "I couldn't sleep... Mum, why are you crying?"

Her mum knelt down in front of her. Even now, she couldn't really make out her face. Only the icy blue eyes she shared with her mum.

"My darling, please never forget that I love you. Everything I did was to protect you and your brother..." there was a hint of sadness in her voice. "You must go back to sleep now." With that, she lifted Autumn up.

There she laid her head on the woman's shoulder. A slight hint of vanilla reached her nose. "But I don't want to!" she protested.

"You have to... Good night, my darling..."

Autumn opened her eyes.

Silence.

She needed a moment to get her bearings. Slowly, she sat up. She pinched her nose bridge and lingered like that.

These dreams had haunted her since childhood. And as much as she didn't want it to be true. She had long forgotten her mother's face. When she tried to remember her, there was only emptiness.

Autumn felt her hands begin to tremble. An unquenchable thirst formed.

She spent the rest of the night in her kitchen, trying to forget the dream in alcohol.

" I can't believe it! Where did all these incomplete documents come from?" Marjorie asked aloud.

Autumn put the last pile on her desk. "One last thank you from Siobhan... Reece came across it. He's drowning in these piles of paper. I've taken the stuff to give him a hand."

Marjorie grumbled to herself. It was Friday and she really wanted a relaxed start to the weekend. Now she could forget about finishing work on time.

"All right, let's get on with it..."

The hours passed. One by one, her colleagues left for the weekend. But Marjorie and Autumn were still in paper chaos.

A sense of unease slowly spread through the office. Marjorie stopped and rummaged around in her bag.

"Marjorie, didn't you just take something for your headache an hour ago?" Autumn asked sceptically.

"Yes, but I just can't stand the pain..."

Autumn put the last pile of papers to the side of her desk. It was enough for today, she had already been here two hours longer.

She and Marjorie had wanted to finish everything before the weekend, but her colleague had left half an hour ago. Headache.

Autumn packed her things and looked out of the window towards the car park. Funny, Marjorie's car was still there.

Without giving it a second thought, the woman set off. But she bumped into her colleague in the corridor.

Marjorie was standing there leaning against the wall. She was pale and trembling.

"Marjorie?" Autumn called out. She stepped up to her quickly. The other woman's eyes were glassy and clear beads of sweat were visible on her forehead.

Damn, Autumn knew exactly what was going on. She grabbed the other woman and dragged her into the toilet.

She held her over the toilet seat. "Come on, vomit it out!", Autumn shouted.

But Marjorie didn't really react. Without giving it a second thought, she reached down her throat.

Marjorie threw up immediately. She also seemed to be slowly coming back to her senses. When she was finished, she dropped to the floor next to Autumn. They both sat there, leaning against the wall of the toilet cubicle.

"Thank you...", whispered Marjorie.

But Autumn pulled her bag towards her and took out the flask. She took a big gulp.

"The cat's out of the bag. I don't want to hear anything!" Autumn hissed.

"We both have an addiction problem, don't we?"

Autumn nodded and took another sip.

There was a brief silence between the two of them.

"And what are we going to do about it?", Marjorie asked cautiously.

Autumn stared at her. "Not killing us would be a good start!"

She wanted to take another sip, but was stopped.

"I think you've had enough.", said Marjorie.

The other woman put the flask down. "You're right..." she stood up. "After all, I still have to be fit to drive. Are you coming?"

Marjorie looked at her questioningly.

"I'll drive you to the hospital now. I won't let you go home like this. You'll end up dying overnight. And I won't hold myself responsible! ", Autumn spoke sternly.

But the older woman shook her head. "I'm fine..."

Autumn rolled her eyes. "You almost overdosed just now! Come with me now or I'll carry you out!"

Reluctantly, Marjorie stood up.

How could she explain this to Reece?
