She woke up with a loud thud, now lying on the kitchen floor, the cold tiles bringing her back from her sleep.

She slowly pulled herself up, the fall from the bar stool had not done her back any good at all. Now holding on for dear live at kitchen counter.

The room was spinning, the afternoon sun shining through the windows. Mia had to brace herself to stay on her feet.

Stomach acid rose in her throat and she made it to the sink before throwing up. She stayed there for a while, over the sink. When she was sure, that no more would come out of her stomach. She walked slowly to the coffee machine.

After her coffee and two painkillers, she began to tidy up the kitchen.

She picked up the newspaper that had been there for months.

'Serious traffic accident in city centre! Driver dead!'

The headline had burned itself into her memory, but still she was reading the article once again.

' Late on Saturday evening, an accident happened in the Kingscross.
A driver failed to see another car as he pulled out of the junction and collided head-on with it.
The driver died at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The junction was closed in both directions until early Sunday.'

Mia crumpled up the paper and threw it in the bin.

But habits couldn't change after one day, and so when the sun hadn't even set completely. Mia set off into the nightlife again.

On the way to the pub, she had already drunk two small bottles of schnapps, which she had bought at the petrol station.

The night progressed and so did her alcohol consumption. It had got to the point again, where she could barely stand up straight.

As Mia stumbled out of the bar in the early hours of the morning, she almost fell in from of the feet of two people. Who, coincidentally, had also spent their evening in the bar tonight.

"You look like shit," a woman's voice rang out.

The redhead was struggling with her cigarette packet, not even looking up.

"Hello to you too," she mumbled.

A hand placed itself on her shoulder, but Mia immediately slapped it away.

"Mia... where have you been for the last few months, we've been worried!" This time it was a man's voice.

"What do you care!"

Mia wanted to keep walking, but her legs gave out and she fell to the floor, when she tried to pull herself up against the wall of the bar, she threw up.

The days of pulling all-nighters finally kicked in and Mia lost her footing again, but someone caught her. She didn't have the strength to fight back anymore.

The car door slammed shut and Mia lay passed out on the back seat.

" What a shit show... " muttered Reece.

His sister didn't say anything, she just rolled her eyes.

"You know you have to take her with you. If Marjorie sees her, somebody will die."

" Don't remind me... I can't believe it! She's been out of the picture for months and now we find her here!"

Reece looked in the rear-view mirror.
" Aut, she looks really bad..."

" Oh cry me a river! After what she did to Charlotte, I think that's just payback!"

The rest of the journey was silent between the two siblings. Autumn had already sent Winter a message, saying that he should be preparing himself.

He was already waiting for them in the driveway.

"This bad?" Winter asked his wife.

Autumn opened the car door without comment.

Winter looked into the back seat. " Oh God."

"Just help me get her inside!" Autumn hissed.

She reached under Mia's arms and pulled her out, Winter took her legs. The two of them managed to carry her into the house and lay her down on the couch.

When the cold water hit her face, Mia was instantly awake, falling off the sofa in shock.

Autumn was standing in front of her with a now empty glass.

The redhead looked around, she wasn't at home. Rays of sunlight fell through the window into the room.

" Go and have a shower! You smell like a bunch of football fans after a final! And then we'll go to her! You owe her that!" Autumn shouted angrily.

" No..."

Autumn grabbed her by the arm and pulled her to her feet. "We can do this the nice way, or I can drag you to her and now go and make yourself somewhat presentable!"
