"What do you mean you're leaving? Mia, you can't just run away!" shouted Reece in a hushed voice, he wanted to speak louder but Marjorie was in the next room.

"Reecey, I'm literally at the gate right now. My flight is about to leave."

"Mia, Marjorie has found out that the flowers where from you. She and Charlotte had a really bad fight today. You have to come back!"

Mia took a few steps away from the flight counter. "I can't. The thing with Charlotte... I was playing with fire. It wouldn't end well..."

Reece slammed his fist against his forehead. He was so angry that the phone in his hand was shaking. "Then run away again! But Charlotte is not like me. If you disappear now! Then don't ever come back!" With that, he hung up.

The redhead looked at her mobile phone. She wanted to see Charlotte. But she wasn't ready and what's more, Charlotte was still in a marriage. Perhaps an unhappy one, but in one. It wouldn't end well, she kept telling herself.

The announcement that her flight was about to take off echoed through the loudspeakers.

She spent four weeks in Spain to clear her head, but she couldn't forget Charlotte. No matter how much alcohol she drank or how many women she slept with.

Marjorie was the last one at the Nursery, she was packing up her things when she heard the roar of an engine. When she looked in the car park, she couldn't believe her eyes - a black Mustang was just pulling into one of the spaces.

Mia wasn't even completely out of the car when she was greeted by a very angry Marjorie.

Between the insults and accusations, it became clear what had happened in the four weeks she had been away.

The argument between Marjorie and Charlotte escalated to the point where the brunette handed in her resignation. Effect immediately. Charlotte withdrew from public life and broke off contact with all her former colleagues. This particularly affected Carly.

Marjorie couldn't stop blaming Mia for everything. The redhead didn't get a chance to speak.

When asked where Charlotte was now. All she got back was 'I wish I knew that!'

Mia couldn't listen to it any longer and wanted to leave Marjorie quickly. But the manager shouted something after her that hit Mia harder than any blow in the world. "She already had a broken heart and hoped you could heal it, but when she needed you the most, you ran away. Now there's nothing left of her!"

Mia looked at her angrily. It wasn't all her fault. Marjorie and all the others in the Nursery hadn't realised Charlotte was clinging on to life. She might have run away, but her 'friends' had dropped her too.
"And where were you? When she needed you!" She slammed the car door shut.

She wanted to run again. Mia wanted to leave everything behind her once more, but she owed it to Charlotte to face her at least once. Even if she was only met with hatred. But tracking her down turned out to be more difficult than expected. The address Mia remembered from her time as deputy manager turned out to be the address of her apparently now ex-husband.

And asking him for more information was not something the redhead wanted to do. With what she saw and what information she got from the neighbourhood when she pretended to be an old friend of Charlotte. Didn't brought her any further, in her search.

But Charlotte had done the same thing, she had done the day she left London. Leaving everything behind. Even her children were only with her ex-husband now. And seemed to have little to no contact with their mum.
