Vivian stepped out of the pub, she was the first to leave the company party. The nurse was simply tired and wanted to go home.

She stood outside the building for a moment and looked up at the sky, the stars were clearly visible tonight. The door to the pub opened behind her.

"Are you already going, Viv?" asked a familiar voice. "You didn't visit me at the bar."

Vivian turned slightly. " I was busy, Sarah."

The bartender grinned. " Of course." She lit a cigarette. "Still, why are you going home already? The night is still young."

Vivian waved away the smoke that was drifting in her direction. "I've got a ten-hour shift behind me."

Sarah nodded sympathetically. "That's a shame."

" How are things between you and your lady?"

The bartender took another drag. " It's over. We were too different. Well, now I'm back on the market." She winked at Vivian.

"Sarah, we're just friends."

"I know, but it was still worth a try." She stepped directly in front of Vivian, the younger woman had to stand on her tiptoes to get to the same height as Vivian. "It can only be for a bit of fun, nothing serious."

"No."

Sarah grinned at her, she took a pull, and then she put her free hand around Vivian's neck. She came closer and let her lips linger dangerously close to Vivian.

But the nurse was not impressed. "I'll say it again. We're just friends."

Sarah looked deep into her eyes, then smiled. "Very well," she let go of Vivian and kept her distance again. She took one last drag from her cigarette and then offered the rest of it to Vivian.

"I haven't smoked since Jamie," Vivian said, looking at her sceptically.

"My God, Vivian, are you really that uptight?" Sarah said playfully.

Vivian took a deep breath. "All right." She took the cigarette and took a drag.

Sarah laughed happily." Well, look, now our lips have touched," she winked at Vivian and disappeared back into the pub.

Vivian rolled her eyes, but she had to smile slightly. Sarah really was a flirt through and through. She threw the cigarette away and made her way home.

Ironically, the route took her past the Thames. The river was simply beautiful today under the starry sky.

The cold had engulfed her. Siobhan sat alone on the bench. There where she hadn't had the courage many years ago, to admit her love to Vivian. She had stayed with Roger, married him, tolerated him, and sacrificed her life for him.

What had it gotten her in the end?
Roger had now filed for divorce. Now that he had found something better, according to him. He got bored with his old toy and got himself a new plaything. Siobhan should pity this woman, but she knew that Roger had now found his match in Janice, and hopefully, would she be his downfall finally.

Siobhan should be happy now. She was finally free of this narcissist. But she had lost everything in the process. He had thrown her out of the house. She was now left with nothing, and she wouldn't see a cent of the money either, which Roger had made abundantly clear to her.

Siobhan buried her face, the rest of her savings would soon run out, and she would be thrown out of the hotel she was staying in.

After all the agony, after she had convinced herself for so long that she wouldn't find anything better anyway. After the violence and the isolation. At least she thought she would never have to worry about money again.

But now, even her livelihood was taken from her. There was nothing left. Nothing that kept her in this world.

Who would miss her? Siobhan Serpent. The gold digger. The seductress. The world saw her that way, and no one would come to save her now.

She had been too cowardly when it came to Vivian. But now she would not back out, now she would finish one thing in her life properly. Even if it was her life.

The blonde got up from the bench and approached the railing. It wasn't high here, the fall wouldn't kill her. But she would let herself be swallowed by the waves.

She clutched the iron, that was the only thing that separated her from a cold death. Siobhan looked out over the water.

Hopefully, no one would find her.
Hopefully, no one would remember her.
Let it be as if she had never existed.

Siobhan was about to pull herself up when a hand grabbed her arm. She was pulled back and into two arms.

The weight and heaviness of the last few years came crashing down on Siobhan. She found herself in the arms of a presumable stranger. She knelt on the floor and wept pitifully.

What an embarrassment in Siobhan's eyes, there was now no way to sink even lower.

But something snapped her out of her pain, she realised that the arms were familiar. That there was a familiar smell in the air, and finally, a familiar voice spoke.

A saviour had stepped out of the darkness and saved her from the biggest mistake she could ever make.

" Bon... what do you always do..."
