OCs 2 - the Sequel

The Phone Call

Julia walked outside and answered the phone. "Hello?"
"Julia, I have some good news - well...maybe bad depending on how you take it..."
"About?" Julia asked, confused.
"Chloe," Nate replied.
Julia began to worry. "Which is...?"
"We learned she has a good aunt who is-"
"What?!" Julia asked.
"She has an aunt. We'll provide transportation," he repeated and added.
Julia glanced inside the icecream shop and saw Chloe's eyes light up. She hung up and texted him - so Chloe couldn't hear.
'Next time... Dont let me believe I can adopt a little girl and then call me hours later to tell me nevermind.'
Nate sighed on his end and texted, 'I know. I'm sorry. I didn't realize... No one noticed it until recently. I sent a car to your location to pick her up. I'm sorry, Julia. Maybe next time.'
Julia took a calming breath, not replying, and walked back inside. Throughout letting her know, she was so excited... Julia couldn't blame her, but... She was just so disappointed. She had her first ever mom moments that day and she was so excited to have a daughter and then Nate found an alive relative after he said she didn't have anyone to take care of her. She tried to stay calm. She knew Chloe was so excited... So she put up a high wall to keep herself from frowning and buying a gallon of icecream to eat while she laid on her couch...alone. She just had gotten attached to the adorable, blonde little girl too. But she reminded herself this was best for Chloe. So Julia forced herself to keep a supportive smile on her face while she waited for the agent to show up and drive her off to the airport and fly Chloe off to Europe.
