Valentina looked around, wincing because of the sun. It had been a while in the dark depths of space traveling here... Val gently held her necklace and closed her eyes, mentally searching to find towns. "This way."
She began walking off and Enderen, her older brother, nodded and followed.
"I can't wait to see what earth is like!" Val grinned. Her expression turned grim and she sighed, looking down. "Though I wish..."
"I regret what happened too, Val..." Ender frowned, putting a hand on her shoulder. "We just need to do our best here and guard the rybrospon."
"You're right... It's sad, but we can make a new li-" Val began.
"Take this, beast!" a man yelled in the distance.
Val and Ender exhanged a look.
"Val, don't-" Ender began.
Val grinned and ran ahead of him to check it out.
"Ugh... Kids these days..." Ender sighed, shaking his head and following reluctantly.
Val stopped, hiding behind a tree and peeking out at the human. He was a man with a crown, dueling against a couple of wolves all by himself. He seemed mainly capable.Suddenly, a wolf lunged at him from the side while he was blocking a different one.
"No!" Val yelled, throwing out her hand, sending the wolf flying into a tree.
As soon as it landed, it ran away. The other wolves also fled as Val ran over.
"Are you alright?" Val asked, stopping in front of him.
Ender facepalmed. "So much for laying low until we learn their culture..."
He watched from a distance, for now.The man blinked a few times, glancing at the retreating wolves. "How...how did you...?"
Val smiled sheepishly and joked nervously, "Uh...magic?"
"A witch?!" he cried, eyes widening as he backed away.
"A what?" she asked in confusion.
"Your majesty! Are you alright?!" one of two guards asked, running over.
"Yes... This woman saved me, however... I believe she is a witch!" he replied.
"I have no idea what that means. Is that a compliment ooorrr...?" Val asked innocently.
The guards drew their weapons. "Step away from the prince at one!"
Val raised her hands in the air and slowly backed away. "Was it something I said...?"
"Hands down, witch!" a guard yelled in fear, pointing a spear at her.
Ender was suddenly inbetween the spear and Val. "Hello there."
The guard jumped and stumbled back slightly. "Another one?!"
Ender narrowed his eyes and flicked the spear aside with ease, sending it flying from the guard's hands and into the dirt. "I think you'll find if you aim any further weapons at my sister, a spear isn't going to be the only thing you don't have."
"What my brother is trying to say is... We mean you no harm, really!" Val said, moving in front of him.
"Daniel, she did save his majesty's life..." the other guard reasoned.
Daniel frowned and nodded. "My apologies, sir and ma'am."
"That's enough. Let us return to the palace to discuss this further," the Prince ordered.
Val smiled. "Okay! Lead the way. Oh, I'm Valentina by the way. And this is my big brother, Ender."
Ender gave a brief nod, still keeping an eye on Daniel, who gulped.
"These are my personal guards, Daniel and Weston... And I am Prince Edward the Second," the Prince replied, beginning to walk.
Val walked beside him. "Wow, that's amazing! It's an honor to meet you."
"The honor is all mine... Thank you for saving me, Val," Edward smiled.
Val smiled back, turning slightly red. "Oh...well... You know... No big deal."
Ender walked beside Weston and Daniel - though uneasy - walked in front of them. Ender was observant and very cautious for his little sister. He had to protect her... She was all he had left. His eyes widened. Was his sister blushing?! A human, really?! He grumbled under his breath and kept walking as the Prince and Val continued talking, smiling and enjoying each other's company.
