Val walked in and plopped on the couch. "Sup."
"Hey Val!" Nate grinned, waving.
Ender glanced at her. "Morning..."
"Not a morning person?" Val asked.
"No, I'm fine," Ender shrugged.
Val crossed her arms. "Did I do something?"
"Now that you mention it..." Ender sighed, looking over at her. "I'm still not very happy about October 20th..."
Nate's eyes widened and he gave Ender a look, which Ender ignored.
Val bit her lip and looked down. "Oh..."
"Why did you have to destroy our home anyway? Why was that the 'only way'?"
"I couldn't argue! Limiter, remember?" Val replied.
"Always that excuse!" Ender huffed. "Valentina the Destroyer."
Nate frowned. "En-"
"Oh, I am very sorry for following orders! I thought you would understand more, being a soldier! Why me? Why are you always so mad about that?!" Val replied exasperatedly.
"It's not just that! You destroyed our school when we were kids too. You always destroy!" Ender yelled.
Nate sighed. "Guys-"
"Do you think I meant to, Enderen?! Maybe I just got overwhelmed by everyone calling me a freak! Judging my appearance! Thinking I was some monster!" Val yelled back.
Ender scoffed. "Maybe people judged you because you are a freak! Sometimes I wish I just had a normal little sister!"
"ENOUGH!" Nate yelled, shaking the room.
Val opened her mouth, but was unable to form any words. Ender frowned.
"I...I didn't-" Ender began.
"Save it. I thought you changed..." Val finally spoke, interrupting. She laughed, shaking her head. "But you're not any different."
Val glanced at him for a moment then teleported away to Hayes. Nate turned to face him and crossed his arms, glaring.
Ender sighed and looked down. "I can't believe I said that..."
"Well, guess what? You did. Whatever keeps you so mad at our baby sister...whatever resentment you have or whatever... You need to get over it. Forgive, move on... Whatever you need to do. But stop hurting her when you're the one being a jerk," Nate said, staring him down.
Ender sighed. "I'll work on it..."
"You'd better work it out before Celeste gets involved... Or worse, your girlfriend and her family," Nate stated.
He then stood and walked off, leaving Ender alone to work it out.
